I can't say enough amazing things about Sydney Acting Studio (SAS)! I'm new to acting and started the Camera technique class at SAS in November 2021, and I've been loving every week of it - I wish I found a studio like SAS sooner! SAS is packed full of the most talented coaches and fellow members. The coaches are so kind, approachable, motivating, supportive, and overall just complete geniuses. I've learned so much from the time I've been attending - all skills & techniques that I would have never learned from a book, other studio or class. I think what sets SAS apart from other studios is the sense of community here. Acting has often felt like a very isolating craft, but here the coaches genuinely care about building your skills and success as an actor. The fellow members are all equally warm, hilarious, encouraging, and extremely talented. The camera technique class involves watching one another work - and I honestly feel like I'm watching an Oscar award winning film when the other members are working on their scenes. Speaking of amazing viewings - I highly recommend attending any of SAS' Live Theatre productions. I just saw WASTED by Kae Tempest directed by Aaron Glenane last weekend, and holy mackerel what a show! Y'all need to get off your butts and put pause on Netflix and Stan to get in to see this mesmerizing show. Equal parts hilarious, edgy, and heartbreaking - I was on the edge of my seat the whole performance. Bravo Andrea Magpulong, Joel Sheeran, Nicholas Brady, and Aaron! And of course shoutout to Hunter McMahon for making all of this happen -...
Read moreSydney Acting Studio is fantastic. It's super conveniently located and accessible with a strong range of classes giving you a lot of flexibility as an actor. However the best part about it are the teachers and the other students. The teachers are all established professionals in the industry, the majority having graduated (or worked at) the likes of NIDA, or WAAPA; and are continually working across theatre and screen in Australia. So being able to learn from them is an awesome sort of opportunity that would be hard to find consistently anywhere else.
The other students who are regulars are all serious about the training, dedicated to being the best actor they can be, which means you'll only get better by being around them. The range of classes are brilliant, and there is a strong flexibility to attend different classes, so if your personal life changes, so you don't need to worry about being locked into some sort of unmoving contract or anything.
The most important thing (I think) about being an actor is to be able to be taking classes regularly to improve your craft, and SAS is a brilliant place to start (and...

He has created such a sense of community and passion for the craft for his students. Allowing you to constantly reflect on your strengths and weaknesses and feel encouraged to fully embrace whichever stage you’re at. I’m so grateful for my time at the studio and the opportunities to meet such gifted students and coaches. Hunter is so generous and genuinely wants the best for his students.
