This is the worst value restaurant in Sydney. 3 friends and I ordered the banquet. This is $140 worth of food. The portions were so small we each had just over half a plate of food. For example the cauliflower dish was 4 tiny sprigs of cauli. The eggplant was 4 tiny thinly sliced pieces of eggplant. There were 8 dishes in total, but the portions were so small, it amounted to nothing. We thought maybe there was some confusion with what we ordered so we asked the owner who said no that was it and then said that no one has ever complained about the portions before. If you look at some of the reviews here that was not a correct statement. We honestly thought that we had been given 2 banquets only. We added up each dish and the total to order individually was $120. I would hate to see the amount of food that would have come out if we did not order it as a ‘banquet’. This business must be printing money with a grocery bill that would be next to nothing. We all left hungry and disappointed. If you like being ripped off then go grab a meal...
Read more"For what it is" is often used as an insulting or at least reducing phrase for good or restaurants. Not here. Wilsons has been around long enough to know who and what it is. If tasty Lebanese food at a price is your desire, they will satisfy it. The chilli chicken is a great example. It doesn't look fancy and it smells as full of garlic as your Italian nonna....I won't say that it's revelatory, but its a damn tasty dish, that lingers like Tony Abbott's raw onion "apple"...but in a better way. The chips likewise, don't look much, are limp as old codgers donga, but they are strangely addictive, especially paired with the simple but yummy beans. There's more to explore here, and when 2 can get a feed for $50, byo if need be, and be out in an hour, you dont have the best Lebanese restaurant in Sydney. But you do have a homely place for a good feed, fast and reasonably priced. Its really great...
Read moreThe food was poor and the service was just as bad unfortunately. It might have been an off day but if you want good quality, tasty Lebanese food, don’t go here. The mixed starter was small for two people (for example one falafel per person that was not homemade). The hummus and baba ganoush were watery. The mixed meat platter to share between two was incredibly poor all round - the quality of meat used, the flavours and cooking techniques (bland and overcooked) and the presentation (thrown together on to a dish no bigger than a dinner plate). Coupled with this, there was nothing to accompany the meat, not even a simple green salad or sliced tomatoes. No care or attention was given to the food. This was also the case with the feel of the place as it lacked care and attention. Such a shame as had heard...
