Wok Station Pyrmont — Restaurant in Sydney

The food is great, the chef is the nicest guy ever but the manager is a thief and doesn't care about customers. I realised recently that when I was buying a Pad Thai I was charged 11$ on my credit card on a menu cost of 9.90$. You may say "it's just a dollar" but when I thought about it, I go there every day so I spend there 220$ a month. That's 22$ a month extra. or 264$ a year. You may say that's their choice and my choice as well but it is actually not. By law they are only allowed to charge whatever they are charged by the bank which is at worse 4%. 1.1$ transaction on 9.90$ is 11%. When I told the manager she said initially said "if you don't want to pay, pay cash" which is not the point. When I told her it was illegal, she said she didn't know (obviously lying). I came the next day with an article for her to read about the legality of her actions and she dismissed it. A month has passed and they still charge it. Of course I can't eat there anymore (I don;t want to be spat in my lunch) but know that if you pay by card you will be overcharged. Food is still...

Wok Station in Pyrmont is such a hidden gem! The food is absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is really welcoming. We ordered the Pad Thai, Massaman Curry, Soft Shell Crab Papaya Salad, and Yum Woo Sen along with a mint mojito.

Every dish was packed with flavour and cooked perfectly. The Yum Woo Sen was definitely my favourite – tangy, refreshing, and perfectly seasoned. The crispy soft shell crab was also a standout, cooked to perfection without being oily at all.

On top of that, they have happy hour for cocktails and beer which makes it even better. Definitely a great spot to satisfy your Thai...

The lunch special was especially great in terms of value for money. The food was tasty overall, but since I visited during a busy time with lots of people, some dishes were just okay. In particular, my Pad Kee Mao had a persistent burnt taste. It made me wonder if the wok hadn’t been properly cleaned before cooking. The burnt flavor lingered throughout the meal, which was a bit disappointing. My companions mentioned that sometimes the food is amazing, but other times not so much.
