Bakaliko — Restaurant in Graz

After many attempts without reserving the table, in a cloudy and fresh evening we have had luck and we could eat in this restaurant. There are few tables outside along the street but we did stay inside. The atmosphere is nice and the local well furnished. In four people we did order a couple of cold and warm appetizers and two main dishes (Leblebi, Rindfleischbällchen). Sharing the food we did taste a little bit of everything. Among the appetizers I liked much the "Fava". The combination of caramelized onions and the broad bean puree was amazing. The service was quick and the lady very friendly and easy going. I saw there are some Greek wines with affordable prices but we did drink just water. Next time I will taste the wine. 15-20 € for a lunch / dinner. One gets value for money in this restaurant. P. S. Upon your request, I provide more information. Unfortunately, I did not make photos to show the portion of food. For the price, the amount of the meat portion was very small. It did not represent the Greek portion of food. 6 euros for a very mediocre and small amount of Tzatziki was a shock. 14 euros for 4 keftedakia and 20 euros for the kotopoulo, which only had a small piece of chicken, made me speechless. The tastes were ok. The menu had limited choices, and many options didn't fit my diet, although I never had this problem in other Greek restaurants that have a broader menu. A gem of a restaurant. The food is really tasty and quite varied, offering choice well beyond the standard dish selection you find in every Greek restaurant. They also offer great daily desserts - just ask them about their galaktoboureko and, if you're lucky, you'll be in for a subtle treat.

The interior is quite lovely and not too crowded (they recently expanded and redecorated the place), and in warm months you can also sit outside and enjoy the cheerful bustle of Lendplatz.
