The Hungry Heart — Restaurant in Graz

Unbelievably disappointed. A friend recommended Hungry Heart as they order frequently from here and love it. Coming here, however, I have a very different experience.

Waited over 1 hour when there were only 6 people with simple orders in from of us. Chili cheese fries were great, especially for the price. The Chili dog came nearly ice cold, I doubt it was cooked at all.

Biggest downfall: the worker. Gray hat, dark curly hair. He was constantly yelling and throwing things. Touching his phone and hair in between touching food without washing. Music was so loud I had to yell to order. He was unbelievably rude to everyone and made my partner and I uncomfortable. Another customer complained that he didn't get something, worker started yelling that someone must've took it (didn't happen, guy was there the whole time next to us). I do not recommend this place if the guy is working. I normally dontr write negative reviews, but hopefully the company does something before they have even more disappointed customes. I had so many bad/weird experiences with the people working there like today when I wanted to order something and after I did he told me it’s cash only which is absolutely fine so I told him I’ll be right back with money and went to get some but when I was back it was closed for lunch break (which is completely fine too) but man could you not have told me that before i wasted 20 mins going back and forth? And yes I found the small handwritten note on the door that points out the opening times afterwards but man that’s really not something that pops into your vision when you enter that door.

Also one time I went in there because the door was open and he looked at me weirdly and told me he’s on lunchbreak in an unfriendly way. Sorry then close the door or just let me know in a nicer way. No issues with lunchbreaks here..

I go eat for the experience and food is a part of it. The sandwiches are amazing but it just not as enjoyable if the staff is stressed and unfriendly. And especially from a small street food kind of vibe restaurant i expect a nice ambience.

This has to have been the best sandwich I’ve eaten in my life!! I highly recommend. It’s a little difficult to find as it’s kind of hidden between other places and is fairly small, but it’s definitely worth the hunt. I had the Caesar Chicken sandwich and shared some fries and it was all so delicious. The person working that evening may have been the owner, but was so incredibly friendly and nice. He was patient with our lack of ability to speak any German, and graciously offered what he could. If you are in Graz, make it a point to check...
