Strobl-Stüberl — Restaurant in Salzburg

This restaurant is very popular amongst asians, especially koreans for some reason! I am not a fan of schnitzel after trying the ones in Vienna, but the salzburg schnitzel from this restaurant is really flavourful as the recipe is unique with the addition stuffing of mushrooms onion and bacon. Order one portion is enough for 2 petite asians! It comes with potatoes and a bowl of salad which is so good, thumbs up for their dressing!

Try the escargots which is cooked in butter and garlic and ?chilli sauce? One of the best i have tried!

The beef semolina soup is so good! So light and fragrant. A very apt dish to have in the cold weather.

The seafood pan is hugely popular. Fresh seafood with mussels, large prawns and capsicums, accompanied by bread loaf. Very good too!

I would highly recommend the schnitzels, escargots, beef soup with semolina and seafood pan.

I would have tried the other dishes like the pastas but my asian stomach has regrettably no more room for more..

I have to highlight that the restaurant was bustling during the 2 times i visited. Food so good i went back the second day. Kudos to the lady boss who is doing a one-man show outside the kitchen, attending to orders, serving, cashier. Watch her handle the huge crowd alone you will be amazed. No one makes a complain as everyone just waits patiently for their turn. She is so focused on her task and works efficiently! And she is very friendly too. The vibes of the restaurant gives a homely feel....

This restaurant is located between Salzburg Central Station and Mirabell Palace, making it easily accessible on foot from either location. I chose this restaurant initially because of the excellent reviews from other Korean patrons. During my four-day trip to Salzburg, this place truly lived up to the description in some reviews as "the best food in Salzburg."

The Salzburg-style schnitzel here had a richer mushroom flavor than the famous restaurant near Mozart Square. Additionally, the salad provided allowed me to enjoy some much-needed vegetables, which are often scarce during a trip to Austria. If you don't like cucumbers, I recommend asking them to be removed in advance.

The Spanish seafood stew, highly praised by many Koreans, was indeed delicious. It wasn't too spicy, and I enjoyed the flavorful shrimp and ample mussels. For Korean travelers, a helpful tip is that this dish resembles the taste of seafood jjambbong(해물짬뽕), making it a comforting choice during a long trip.

Kaiserschmarrn was a perfect dessert, a delightful pancake dish. The dark beer reminded me of the mixed beer I had in the Czech Republic, both in color and taste. I drank a total of 2.5 liters, including one lager and four dark beers, but the food was so good that it was well worth it. I hope the two elderly owners, who seem like a couple, stay healthy and continue to serve this wonderful food for a long time...

너무 기분 나빠서 올립니다. 여기 가시려는 분들은 좋은 후기만 보지 마시고 밑으로 쭉 내리시면 서빙하는 할머니 무례하다는 평 많으니까 꼭 읽어 보세요. 외국 여행 많이 해봤는데 이렇게 불쾌한 식당은 처음이고, 엄마 모시고 갔는데 엄마도 너무 기분 나빠하셔서 속상했네요. 주인 할머니가 들어갔을 때 빤히 보고 아는척도 안한다는 후기를 못 보고 여기간게 너무 후회됩니다... 후기에 나오는 친절하다는 주인이 없는건지 한국인이 많이 찾아가니 배가 불러 저러는건지 모르겠습니다.

서빙하는 할머니가 너무 너무 별로입니다. 후기에 친절한 분은 홀에 안계신거 같아요. 식당에 갔더니 손님 70퍼센트가 한국인이더라구요. 가게 홀에서 일하는 사람은 서빙하는 할머니 한 분밖에 없었어요. 참고로 제 앞에 기다리는 팀은 없었고 들어갔을 때 다른 테이블은 다 식사중이더라구요. 들어갔는데 서빙하는 할머니가 저를 보고도 본척도 안하길래 바빠서 그런가보다하고 서있었습니다. 그런데 저를 빤히 보고 5분이 지나도 아무 안내가 없고 아는 척도 안하는 거에요. 그래서 그냥 비어있는 바 자리에 앉아서 또 10분을 기다렸는데 메뉴판도 안주길래 메뉴판 좀 받을 수 있는지 물어봤는데 자기 바쁜거 안보이냐고 기다리라고 퉁명스럽게 말하더라고요. 그래서 15분 또 기다렸습니다. 제가 들어온 이후에 식사하고 있는 사람들이 추가로 맥주 시키는건 계속 가져다주면서 메뉴판도 안 주는게 말이 되나요? 가게가 넓은 것도 아닌데 주문 받을 때까지 25분 기다렸어요. 음식을 기다린게 아니라 주문받길 기다린겁니다. 하...음식을 시키고 역시나... 진짜 부르면 성질 낼까봐 기다리다가 40분 지났는데 음식이 안나와서 물어보니 곧 나올거라네요. 계산할때도 현금으로 할거냐 카드로 할거냐 물어봐놓고 10분이 지나도 카드기도 안가져오고 계속 다른일 하길래 결국 나가면서 계산한다고 다시 말했더니 또 현금으로 할지 카드로 할지 물어보더라구요. 생각해보니 음식 늦게 나온 것도 바빠서 그런게 아니라 까먹고 늦게 준거 같아요.

이해가 안되는게 기껏해야 테이블 10개정도 있었고 저희가 들어왔을 땐 이미 다른 테이블은 다 식사를 하는 중이었거든요. 이미 앉아있는 사람들 맥주랑 물은 가져다주면서 자리 안내, 주문받기, 음식 서빙, 계산까지 전부 한참 기다리게 하는 경우는 처음 봅니다. 유럽은 원래 음식 오래 기다리는거 알고 있고 다른 곳에서도 경험해봤지만 들어갔는데 아는 척도 안하고 자리 안내 기다리라는 말도 안하면서 본인 할 일만 하는 곳은 처음 보네요.

시간의 문제가 아니라 불친절과 무관심이 문제입니다. 일하는 순서도 엉망이고요. 혼자 서빙하면서 질 떨어지는 서비스를 제공할거면 음식 가격이라도 싸야하는데 음식도 비싼편이고요. 슈니첼은 먹을만하지만(참고로 음식이 유럽인거 감안해도 짭니다.) 이런 대접 받으며 먹을 정도로 맛있진 않고요. 보니깐 한국인들이 다 돈 벌어다주는데 이런식으로 대접하는게 괘씸하더라구요. 들어간 순간부터 불쾌한 경험 하기 싫으면 제발 다른 곳으로 가세요. 참고로 제 뒤에 서계신 분들한테도 아무 안내도 없이 한참 서있게 하더라구요.

I'm posting this because I feel so bad about the old lady server. All the reviews from a few years ago are good, but after reading the recent reviews, I see that there are many people who have had unpleasant experiences like me. I don't know if it's because the kind owner has changed. This is my first time being treated like this at a restaurant. The old lady who serves me was very, very unpleasant. I went there as soon as I arrived in Salzburg because I saw a lot of good reviews. The only person working in the store hall was an old lady who served. I went in, but I was standing there for 10minutes because the old lady didn't say anything to me. Even after 10 minutes, she didn't give any instructions and didn't even pretend to notice. So I just sat at the empty bar and waited for another 10 minutes, but she didn't come to take my order, so I asked if I could get the menu, but she bluntly told me to wait. The store was small but I waited 20 minutes for my order to be taken. I wasn't waiting for food, I was waiting for my order to be taken. Ha...I ordered food and as expected... I was worried that she would get angry if I called her, so I waited for 40 minutes and the food didn't come out, so I asked and she said it would come out soon. Even when paying, she asked if I wanted to pay with cash or card, but she didn't bring the card machine and kept doing other things and came back a while later. After 10minutes, she asked one more time if I wanted to pay with cash or card. I think it wasn't because she was busy, but because she forgot the food and served it late. I know sometimes it takes long time to serve food and I have experienced it in other places as well. But this restaurant's problem is not just time but server's attitude. This is the first time I've seen a place where server just did her own thing without telling anything to customers to wait for their seats. This restaurant provided poor quality of service but the food wasn't cheap. Schnitzel is edible, but not delicious enough to be treated like this.
