This place is a gem and ended up being our best food experience in Salzburg (by far!!!). I recommend making a reservation as they do get busy. The place was lovely! It had a rustic and cozy vibe, which we loved. We started with a pumpkin soup, which I think was exceptionally good. As opposed to most pumpkin soups, it was not sweet forward, but rather savory. I got their beef goulash, which was very comforting, with reach beef flavors. We also went adventurous and got their venison ragout. This was also a dish that was very new to us and a divine combination. Venison was cooked along fruits and presented perfectly: a sweet and savory combination and very seasonal. Even though we were very full at this point, we thought it would be a shame not to try their sweets and we ended up being so glad that we did! Their sweet dumpling with stewed plum was so fantastic that we still talk about it! Overall, the place is a must if you are in Salzburg.

This place oozes tradition. It's in a futuristic looking decorum and lobby of the hotel, but once you are in it feels like a true Austrian Alps Gasthof. I forgot to photograph the food, but I recommend the goulash and the bratwurst. They have a great selection for kids but mostly fried stuff and one pasta dish. Kid friendly with some nice child seats, it's also (surprisingly for running in a basement of a hotel) dog friendly. Great beer selection from Steigl, I had the Pils and it was super fresh. We couldn't have the dessert (too full), but I've seen the apple strudel being served next to us and it looked delicious.

Warm and welcoming experience at PitterKeller I had a lovely time at PitterKeller in Salzburg. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and had a cozy charm to it — you go down a level to get there, which adds to its unique character. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The food was delicious, very satisfying and well-prepared. A great spot to enjoy a relaxed meal in a comfortable setting. I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a traditional and pleasant dining experience in Salzburg. A solid choice with great service and a lovely vibe!

Where to begin with this place (and the reviewers of this restaurant prior to myself). I had not eaten all day since traveling here from Italy so this should have been an easy home run for the restaurant.

Starting with the good : Service is great, the atmosphere and overall “feel” of the place is wonderful. The food presentation is fantastic.

The bad: the food overall. The pork on both of our dinner plates was dry and not well seasoned. The goulash was ok at best and our appetizer was ¯(ツ)/¯. The spätzle was some of the worst tasting I’ve ever had. It was almost like the bread wheat flour was sour and bad when they made it. The dumplings were ok I suppose and the salads were very good but - it’s salad. You would be hard pressed to mess that up.

Maybe we caught them on an off night? I was even willing to give them that until I looked at a calendar and realized it was Friday night. It should have been top notch. And it not great at the very...

The foods aren't as good. I'm not sure how they get those reviews. Hopefully, not bots.

Had the 3 courses Christmas Eve dinner with my family. We are not happy with how less appetising the foods served. The meat is not fresh and smells. Maybe it is due to Christmas, it could be frozen foods. Hope they improve on that.

Also, we did not like how the server attended to the guests. There are a couple of tourists from Asia in front of us. They were belittled and mistreated at the entrance. My family overheard the male server badmouthing if they could even afford to pay for dining in.

This is extremely inappropriate and peculiar for us. Overall, this kinda leaves us a bad impression...
