We were having a very nice experience at Aida on 5/21/24 after it being recommended to us by our cab driver. We went in to try their pastries and coffee / tea and went upstairs to the emptier side of the sit down area. Six adults all ordered a pastry and a beverage, and enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. The staff is all very young and we had a nice waitress serve us at our table. The food was enjoyable and we were having a good time in our quiet corner of the busy restaurant.

It wasn't until the end of the visit when we were leaving that the whole experience was ruined. As we were leaving to go downstairs a group of the young staff were gathered in the corner behind one of the stations and they were snickering. Most of us had already gone downstairs at this point to visit the restroom before we left. One person in our party waved at them and told them "goodbye" cheerfully (this person has a disability from a series of strokes and seizures he experienced after cancer treatment ten years back.) He was met with them all giggling at him and then after a pause, mocking him with a sarcastic "goodbye" back. He kept going on his way, unaware that these employees were just laughing at him for his disability. When the remaining person in our party saw this and looked at them with a "what the hell was that about face" they all smiled awkwardly and either walked away or went back to work embarrassed.

When the rest of us were informed of what happened we naturally were all upset and made angry. One of us went in and asked if there was a manager or someone to talk to and discuss what just happened, but were told "no, there is no manager in today." The young staff couldn't have cared less and made no attempt to be helpful.

Completely ruined the visit and honestly soured that whole day in Vienna for many of us. I understand the atmosphere of this pastry shop is for tourists and the Instagram crowd, and that means young kids are the servers and chefs, however they should have a level of decency and know not to disrespect the customer. Our server was actually very nice and sweet, however the rest of the servers openly mocking a member of our party has caused us to look at the whole experience negatively.

Would...

A visit to Aida Café in Vienna this Sunday morning was nothing short of enchanting. Nestled in the heart of Vienna, Aida Café exudes old-world charm with its distinctive pink and white decor and retro furnishings. The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by the warm, inviting aroma of freshly baked pastries and rich coffee.

The café was bustling with a lively mix of locals and tourists, creating an energetic yet cozy atmosphere. The service was impeccable; the staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that every guest felt welcome.

I decided to start my adventure with one of Aida’s renowned pastries, opting for the Sachertorte, a classic Viennese chocolate cake. The cake was decadent, with a perfectly balanced layer of apricot jam and a smooth, rich chocolate icing that melted in my mouth. Paired with a robust cup of Viennese coffee, it was an indulgent experience that truly captured the essence of Vienna’s café culture.

What made the morning even more delightful was the ambiance. The large windows allowed sunlight to pour in, illuminating the ornate details of the café’s interior. I found a seat by the window, offering a perfect view of the bustling street outside. It was the ideal spot to relax, enjoy my treats, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the city waking up.

In addition to the Sachertorte, I couldn't resist trying a slice of Apfelstrudel. It was simply divine, with a crisp, flaky pastry enveloping a warm, spiced apple filling that was both sweet and tart. Each bite was a testament to Aida's dedication to quality and tradition.

Overall, my Sunday morning adventure at Aida Café was an unforgettable experience. The combination of excellent food, charming ambiance, and top-notch service makes it a must-visit spot in Vienna. I visited this cafe because a guy I met in our train to Vienna told us that they have a very good promotion for good coffee and cake. It turns out wrong. There was a promotion but a buy 5 get 1 kind of thing which is not suitable for a small crowd like us. I like how they show you what they put inside their coffee on the menu. But what I ordered was actually quite different from what it looks like on the menu. I imagined a floppy whipped cream on top of my melange. But none came out that high. Turns out it was just like a flat whipped cream. The varieties of the cakes are so many and attracting. They all look and taste delicious. I had a small incident with a trainee. I am pretty sure that I ordered the chicken salad instead of club sandwich(because I personally hate bread and I think it is only logic that I would not order sandwhich which has the main ingredient of bread ???) But it turns out that he was very sure about me pointing and saying that I ordered a club sandwhich that made me quite uncomfortable and guilty(because I am a type of person who always think that human always could make a mistake even when she feels the most right.) I am pretty sure that it was just a big fat misunderstanding and I hope we understand each other now with no grudge left. So, if the trainee sees this, I want you to know that I am sorry if you think that it's still my mistake and on my defense, I left some tips on the table and I hope it helps. Back to the food! And yes the chicken salad turned out really great. We really enjoyed the meal and everything except the very crowded place. P.S.: this place is very center. And when you visit the toilet you will get a voucher...

Hello tourist! What I got the applestruddel with vanilla sauce and a weiner melange. I was so surprised on the amount of applesauce that was in it and was also very worried that it would be super sweet.. but to my surprise it was not as sweet as I thought it would be and it was actually very good! What I thought was a lot of sauce is also enough and needed! This was very good overall, different. I was happy that I was able to get the coffee with almond milk! Overall it was good Environment You cannot miss the storefront! It is pink! There is a downstairs and outside seating and there is upstairs where is wait to be seated. There looks to be quite some chairs, but it can be very tight together. I think some of the tables are too close together... but it works for the busy place it is Niceness of the staff it was quite busy and they were all running around. I am not as familiar on the etiquette in Austria but overall I had a good experience, I was able to flag my waiter down. I like that they don't constantly come check on me. Dollar For me it was a bit on the expensive side, a drink and the strudel was 10 euro and the coffee was 5. oh! the bathroom is paid to use BUT you can get that back off your food. Yes It is okay for what it is. I'd recommend it to a friend
