Everything was completely fine, with the exception of service being a bit slow (although understandable regarding the amount of guests), until I went to pay the extra drink I ordered after already settling the full bill (105€). Since I saw the waiters were busy, I went to the bar to pay the additional drink, and the waiter informed me the drink tab for my table was still open and not paid for. I am a student studying abroad, so I keep a close eye on my money, for a hundred euros I need to work about 10 hours, so I was completely shocked. I was sure I paid, and called my friend that had just left to cofirm we had indeed split the bill and fully paid (also leaving a generous tip, of course). I paid for the extra drink and told the waiter that he should check again. Went back to my table, where my boyfriend was waiting as he had come to pick me up, and saw that there was no receipt, meaning we were not given it. I clearly remember paying a waiter and telling him that the it is ok(leaving a tip), but I do not clearly remember his face. I tell all of this to the waiter, in a polite way, ask him to check the cameras and the balance in his wallet, at which point he starts talking to my boyfriend in German (which I obviously do not proficiently speak, but I understand most of it) and telling him In an agressive manner that we should pay and leave and he does not want to have a discussion with me. Multiple times, as he is making my boyfriend very uncomfortable with the way he is speaking to him, I ask him to be professional and how I would prefer him to address the issue with me. Finally, he gets so rude that I say here you go take my miney just leave me alone i stiremed iut tge bar and m aince un shock. He proceeds to tell me off while he prints the receipt (as the staff should have done in the first place) and storms off.
I am left with a 100 euros less than when I first settled the bill, and I truly believe a staff member leaves their shift today with that same bill in their pocket, just because it is easy to tell a young, woman was an easy person to guilt trip and accuse.
The gentleman in question was around 40-50 years old, with a slim figure and rectangular glasses.
I would appreciate if this issue...
Read moreDear Management, I am writing to formally express my disappointment following a visit to your establishment on July 1st, 2025. Based on several enthusiastic recommendations from friends, I had high expectations and looked forward to experiencing what is reputed to be one of the best bars in Vienna. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short of this reputation. My girlfriend and I arrived at approximately 22:00 with the intention of enjoying a few cocktails. However, we encountered an unexpectedly frustrating situation. Although I did not have my physical ID with me, I provided both a digital copy and official government identification via a secure app with a QR code. Despite this, the waiter refused to serve us. Moreover, even though my girlfriend had her physical ID present and it was confirmed by the staff, she was denied service as well—simply because she was with me. This decision was, in our view, unjustified and excessive, especially considering the availability of valid identification. Such treatment is difficult to comprehend and felt unnecessarily hostile. It certainly does not reflect the standards one would expect from a venue of your standing. Please register this as an official complaint. I also wish to inform you that I will be sharing my experience publicly via a Google review in order to inform future guests. Kind...
Read moreI was a bit apprehensive at first, me and a lady friend wanted to get cocktails on a hot summer day and somehow landed at Bar Campari. I’ve seen it from some younger friends’ IG stories before and just assumed it was photogenic tourist trap.
We were seated outside and the wait staff was just the right amount of attentive and and laid-back and I’ve took to studying the menu. The bar clearly knows what vibe and tastes they’re going for (mostly Campari-forward Cocktails and Longdrinks) and some light food. Doesn’t overload me cognitively, which I thought was nice.
The cocktails were tasty and presented in an extremely put-together fashion. Prices were okay too, not cheap but about what you’d expect for a place that can sell an average of 1-2 cocktails per person (They really don’t skimp on the servings here!) on such expensive real estate.
I’d recommend this place if you need a convenient place to meet in smaller groups that enjoy well presented Campari cocktails.
Despite it being located near the city centre it’s not very noisy. Lively enough for it to feel city-like and drowning out all the other conversations including yours without being overbearing.
Not romantic at all though. Would not advise having a date there. Has a slightly older and...
