Great place to stop, have a good beer and a good meal in between walks through this beautiful, old city. The service is really fast, the place is really clean and the staff is really friendly and attentive (they came and checked on us two or three times at least). I'm a vegetarian but I had a lot of options. I finally decided on having a French onion soup with cheese croutons, fried Camembert with sauce and French fries and a large Weizen. My wife on the other hand decided to get the classic ribs (and the portion was really huge so she couldn't even finish everything). The prices were fair and the usual 10% tip is included as "Danke". The only negative thing about our whole experience was that we couldn't pay by card and that, at times the staff didn't quite know / understand English. All in all it was a great experience and we will surely be coming back soon.

The atmosphere is relaxed and lively. The food and beer are OK. Don't expect fast service, everything takes time and the waiter has good conversations with the customers. Tourists, be careful: it's a good idea to check the bill! After we asked for the bill, the waiter came to the table and asked us what we had consumed. After we listed everything we had consumed and he repeated it, I thought the bill was exaggerated: €100 for some appetizers and three drinks. I asked to see the list of items, and there were 2 dishes from another table that he promptly asked if they were for ours, and corrected the bill. After all, the correct bill was €45. As we saw later in other comments, it seems to be common practice for the bill to be incorrect.

🙏A hidden restaurant and bar in the beautiful old town of Vienna. There are many beers to choose from and a variety of food items. There are both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior is decorated with beautiful traditional wooden architecture of Austria. In addition to eating and drinking beer, you can also see the atmosphere of the old architecture of Vienna that is around. And there are also cheerful staff who provide fast service. Thank you.🍺🍻

I very rarely leave a review. Unfortunately, I feel I have to as I left with a sour taste in my mouth. I had 2 beers, I was there for perhaps 30 minutes. The first beer was sour (weissbier) the second was very pleasant (Schwartzbier). When I came to pay, the total was €10.80. I handed over €15 to the barperson who proceeded to put the whole €15 away and continued to move on to other duties without giving me change. I gave him no indication to 'keep the change'. After requesting the change once he returned to the bar he seemed annoyed and slammed the €4 back on the bar and proceeded to say (I'm paraphrasing) 'a tip is expected'. Mate, I've come to your bar for TWO DRINKS, I came to the bar both times rather than expecting table service, A nonverbal expectation of a 40% tip is WILD. I imagine this has happened to more timid customers and they would have left it there. But I work in a bar myself, I can't afford €7.50 per beer, and I would NEVER do that...

Recommended if you want good food and have some time on hand.

Service: The waiter was entertaining and friendly, gave great recommendations and was quick as it gets. His great personality and approach is definitely one reason to visit that place.

Food: Outstanding great! We were pretty hungry so no pictures this time. :-) We went for Cordon bleu and Zwiebelrostbraten which was not only amazingly tasty but came also in huge portions. A plate full off super yummy Kaiserschmarrn made as as happy and full as it gets.

Atmosphere: A typical Gasthaus environment, cozy and woody.

Four out of five for fooling around with the possibility to pay bu card ( maybe Yes maybe No) - at the end I had to go out and find an ATM to withdraw cash and pay the bill. A simple "no cards accepted" would have done a better job. In addition to that we had to wait for the bill quite some time which left a stent on an overall...
