Extremely rude and poor customer service. Please avoid purchasing from them. We came to Vienna for a family reunion from different parts of the world as we used live here and my dad was a diplomat here. While we ordered our ice cream and coffee, my 80+ old dad saw an empty chair and decided to sit. A waiter came over and very rudely told him to get up and get out because the sitting area was only for the people who ordered off the menu. My dad tried to explain that he was just waiting for us to receive our order but the waiter had no patience and almost shoved him out of the cafe. At the same time, I was waiting by a standing table that was empty and with my kids who were having ice cream while waiting for other family member to buy their ice cream and coffee. Another one of those gang of waiters who was escorting my senior dad out with his cane, rudely shuffled the menu in my face saying I could stay inside if I ordered from their. My dad and we were completely shocked. Then we recalled the poor customer and somewhat racist treatments we received once in a while in Austria. After a while, I went inside to talk to the store manager who was kind enough to say he would like to talk to my father. Mr Mehmet walked a bit to ask my dad who was the waiter. My dad being the kind soul that he is didn't want to get him in trouble and the manager then walked away. Disgusted that for a beautiful city like Vienna, being in the prime spot in the city center near Stephansdom, rudely behaved service staff can ruin the experience for everyone. The ice cream is by the way from Castellotto and I would highly recommend you walk 10 min to go there. You will be very politely told that ice cream has to be taken out and they are sorry that it's the store policy which is completely...

Just to be aware if you are thinking about trying to find a place to sit and work, Wi-Fi only permits 30 minutes of access per day. They should maybe offer a longer voucher for people who purchase a full meal.

It seems very busy but I never got to try anything, I just had to pay and leave without trying my drink because I had an important phone call in about 45 minutes and since I wasn’t going to have Wi-Fi access I had to return to my hotel room 30 minutes away.

It was really a bummer, when I came in I did ask if I could sit and work. They told me I could and then I could go upstairs to work. I wish they had told me at that point that the Wi-Fi access was only 30 minutes. That’s fine, they have a right to do that and maybe it makes sense for their business but I do wish that that had been much clearer upfront because I would’ve found a different place to go to that was more appropriate for my needs.

I did not have this problem at the Schwarzenberg. I told them I needed to work and asked what was a reasonable period of time for me to stay. They let me know I should maybe only stay for an hour and a half. That’s exactly what I did and I still ordered a full meal, an alcoholic beverage and a dessert to support the business and tipped well.

I really wish they had just been more communicative and upfront. And frankly, I can’t believe they charged me six euros for a tea I didn’t even get the chance to drink. I explained my problem to the waiter and he didn’t really seem to care just Reaffirmed that we only get six minutes of Wi-Fi and he brought...

On January 2, me and my friend visited the cafe. My friend just wanted to sit down and eat delicious ice cream in peace. I, for personal reasons, did not order anything, to which the waiter reacted with clear disapproval, smiling under his breath. I automatically felt bad, but decided to stay and accompany my friend. The waiter, who served us, did not inform us that it is not possible to pay by card. He did it only at the moment of paying in an unpolite way, and the other waiter then mockingly shouted something like "cash, cash", which we both still don't understand, but we took it as ridicule. Unfortunately, we both felt very uncomfortable. We weren't even greeted with a "goodbye". On top of that, as we were leaving, we were eyed by another waiter. I don't know if it's because we didn't order much, or because I had a backpack, or there was some other reason I don't understand, but we felt like we weren't welcome in the cafe and were taking over the table for guests, who probably will spend more money there. I am sorry, because I have been to many cafes around the world and I have never encountered such rude staff. As for the ice cream, it was...

This is an extremely popular cafe possibly due to its central location right outside the stephensplatz subway and very close to the cathedral. Definitely the busiest place I saw during my visit. I visited 3 times, first for breakfast and further 2 visits for ice coffee which is a desert coffee made with ice cream & whipped cream. Very good. The outside terrace is perfect on a hot day and quite atmospheric as the tables are filled constantly with folk babbling away in various different languages. There is also inside tables and an upstairs terrace plus WC in the basement. My third visit during the busiest I’d ever seen it required a wait for a table and one waiter decided to overlook my solo self and seat others who came after me. Thankfully his colleague put him right and I was seated next. If it hadn’t been deliberate I’d rate it five stars because each time the food and drinks were very enjoyable. Strangely the waiter with the selective eyesight who became my server was the only one from my 3 visits to ask for a tip. I matched his brass neck with a firm no. The staff all work extremely hard here non stop and I appreciate them and the good food and drinks.

Very nice cozy Wien style restaurant located at the Wien (Vienna) Mitte (Mid town), exactly opposite to the lane of St. Stephan's cathedral, diagonally opposite to the swatch and Tissot shop. Must try Shnitzel (Typical Viennese old-school cuisine, beef is typical but you can choose from lamb and chicken also). Also the Ottakringer (local beer of Vienna) goes really well with Schnitzel. Don't forget to walk to the Operah and the Museum's to burn some extra calories after the wonderful lunch. Just opposite to this cafe there is an old man selling vegetarian potato patties (getting vegetarian food on the streets in EU is very surprising though). Have a great time at Wien. Edit Upon my another visit to this place I discovered that this place is also well known for it quality ice creams and desserts especially Spaghetti dessert is amazing

The place looks nice, the space itself is fine. However, the drinks were a big disappointment. We ordered cocktails, each around €10, but they were definitely not worth it. My drink, Sweet Love, was basically just juice with ice – orange juice with pulp – and it didn’t taste good at all. Honestly, paying €10.20 for that felt like a scam. For this price I expect proper coctail. My boyfriend ordered a mango & coconut smoothie for €7, and it was served in a completely basic glass, without the proper consistency of a smoothie. I really don’t recommend this place if you’re looking for cocktails. The only positive thing is that the ice cream here is actually good.
