Beautiful vintage-style cafe interior but service and atmosphere not good. I am a global traveller and have never been treated so strangely and shoddily in a cafe before. If you go to the counter to order a coffee, unlike other cafes who will serve you in the moment, they tell you that you have to go to a table and they will come there, but then have to wait at least 20 minutes for them to take a coffee order, even at 10.30 am when there are not many customers.
Some of the staff (not all) have a major "attitude" problem though. when they first open in the morning even though there were no customers in the inside of the cafe, or where I was sitting, they played loud music like a nightclub. Not peaceful, calm or easy to listen to. When I politely asked the FOUR members of staff (including the manager) if they could turn the music down they insisted it had to be at that level, even though there were no customers there. They also told me it was not a co-working space and that I should sit outside in the sun. I also found this odd, surely the customer should decide if they want to sit inside or outside? If they want to do some work on their laptop while they have a coffee too, that is their liberty to do so right? Even stranger, the previous days before the male staff member serving had turned the music down straight away when asked even though it was 7pm! I explained that to the four members of staff in an empty cafe, and these four people then proceeded to "gang up" on me, a lone foreign woman, and asked me to leave, simply for querying why they refused to turn the music down. Then, suddenly one of the men behind the counter said he wanted me to leave, and they would call the police on me if I did not leave the cafe. Even though I had done nothing wrong at all. I told them that is a total waste of police time, who are normally catching criminals, rapists, robbers and murderers not lone foreign women in a cafe asking for the music to be turned down. They said it was Austria and they can call the police for that. The people working there seemed argumentative, unkind and bullying. Like they had some personal issue with me, and they were just using the music issue as a way to bully me. I would never visit there again. The manager just backed them all up.
They have no idea what good customer service is. I went to a nearby cafe where the coffee is better, no loud music and no unkind, mean and bullying arrogant staff. Avoid this place. They might call the police on you, or you might have to wait half and hour for them to serve you a coffee, even when the place is empty of customers! Go to another cafe and let the staff enjoy their music and empty cafe in the morning alone!
UPDATE: even the cafe's unfriendly, false and aggressive response here tells you all you need to know. 1) On my first visit there, I quietly waited over half an hour to be served for a simple cappuccino. The staff member realising the error apologised and let me have a free one. There was no issue when I left. 2) On my second visit there with my friend who has a lovely golden retriever dog we sat outside with the dog and then went inside with the dog. The back door was open for the outside space and so she took her dog there. The staff member said it was private and to bring the dog back in, which she did immediately she got the dog on the lead. However, we did not know it was not part of the cafe space. There was no bad feeling and the staff member then turned the music down when my friend asked him to without question. He did not make a big scene about it. 3) The third visit was different staff but it was rude and aggressive from the beginning as I already described. They clearly had some personal issue with me and wanted to bully a lone foreign woman as soon as I entered. They say they are progressive but they are not friendly to lone females or foreigners. They do not know the meaning of customer service with a smile and kind, friendly compassionate welcome to foreigners who are not aware of their "rules". I notice other reviewers...
Read moreThe worst attitude of the client that I have met! So, I was in this place about 4 times. The service was always leisurely, and the drinks were just normal, but the place seemed pleasant. However, the waiters showed themselves today in relation to me simply destroyed all the good that I saw in this place. I really needed a place for an important call and while nearby I remembered this place. I sat on a terrace and opened a laptop starting to prepare for a call. In those 15 minutes that I was preparing, a waiter came up to me and asked what I would drink. After another 10 minutes, another waiter came up and asked what I want to drink as I was still waiting for tea. So I started my important call and here the 3rd waiter is already approaching me and after 30 minutes of my stay on the terrace it turns out that on Saturdays I cannot sit here with a laptop. And instead of apologizing that 2 other waiters, approaching 3 times, did not tell me this, she began to insist that I move inward. I said that I need to end the meeting and then I can do it But she insisted and I expressed my displeasure apologized to my interlocutor and went inside. But the funniest thing began when the waiters seemed to specially increase the volume of music in a half-empty cafe as soon as I entered. Although when I ended the call and told them about it, they denied everything. The only reason why I was somehow able to complete the call is voice isolation and noise cancellation. No tips, Terrible attitude towards guests! I will never...
