This is one of the places in Vienna where they charge you for tap water... it never happened before, but somehow, over the years, it has become more and more commun, especially in touristy places. In countries where water is clean, this shouldn't be happening and however good the rest was, you do not deserve better than 1 star. I lived in many different places of the world and I find it shocking that this happens. Not to mention that we were 4 people who ordered a bunch of food and we all gave generous tips (which on second thought, you didn't deserve at all). When it was my turn to pay and I decided not to give a tip, you asked me "Were you unhappy with something?", to which I said that I didn't like the fact that you charge the water. You then answered that you only charged water when people only drank water and ordered nothing else... Which is why I changed my mind and gave you a tip, thinking that only drinking water was indeed rude... But then I found out that my 2 friends who had only ordered water to drink, but no juice, tee, alcohol (...) had in fact been charged for their glasses of water. I was furious to find out that you had lied to me and basically pushed me to pay a tip that I didn't want to give in the first place! So in summary, if you order food with water the water is charged, but if you order food plus a beverage other than tap water you are not being charged for the water that comes with? That is just insane and doesn't make any sense... In France or in Japan, you get a whole pitcher of water and it's free - and technically, it's our tax money that pays for the tap water, so you should be ashamed of yourselves by thinking that what you are doing is normal. This shouldn't be something that becomes normal or trendy. Think things over, or I will never set foot in your place again + I will make sure you get very bad publicity. Do you even think about people with chronicle diseases and/or people with medical treatments who are not allowed to drink anything but water (alcohol/sugar free diets)? Do you think that it would be be fair to ask them to pay for tap water? What about parents who need to beg for free tap water for their children when this kind of policy exists? Then of course, there is mineral water, but again, when tap water is clean and good quality, people shouldn’t be forced to consume mineral water, which is also bad for the environment (plastic/glass bottles). In 2023, not caring about this kind of issue is also a...
Read moreWe are tourists here in Vienna, and we have spent almost three weeks in this amazing city that is supposed to be child-friendly. However, we have found that it is NOT EVEN CLOSE TO being a child-friendly place. As a parent with a baby who need a baby chair, we cannot sit comfortably in this place, as the baby can only sit in front of me (imagine trying to feed him that way 🙃). Unfortunately, we cannot sit at a bigger table with more space because it is just the two of us. So, it is not a suitable place for a baby. The experience has been quite disappointing, and we find the place and service to be horrible!
My answer to your comment is below:
It fine that you're trying to see me as a bad and aggressive person, but it's not true. Everything you said in your comment is not accurate. Let me kindly point out the moments when your staff was not friendly.
First of all, none of your staff informed me about the reservation policy. We were just passing by and decided to eat with my little one. Additionally, the waiter offered me the bigger table initially, but then my belongings were moved to a smaller table while I was in the bathroom - without my permission. I thought it was okay, but I needed to change the chair's position to feed the baby properly. Before I did that, I checked and noticed that nobody was sitting behind me (although a couple later occupied that spot), so the chair wouldn't disturb anyone. Furthermore, the waiter could easily pass between the tables. Here's a suggestion: You might consider purchasing chairs that can slide under the table; it would be more convenient for your small space.
Secondly, I want to reiterate that no one informed me about the reservation policy when I mentioned that we could sit at the bigger table, which was initially offered to us. The waiter simply said it's not for two, but for larger groups.
I understand that you want to present your establishment in a positive light, but your service definitely needs to be more friendly and your communication should be more polite.
As I mentioned earlier, your place could benefit from better...
Read moreThis was my first time trying the Korean hotpot, and it was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend and I ordered the tofu and pork meat hotpot, and we also chose to add noodles to it, which was perfect to fill both of us. The hotpot was super flavorful and not very spicy (for my boyfriend, who's not used to spicy food, it was a perfect amount of spiciness). In addition, the hotpot came with delicious side dishes and it was cooked on our table. The meal was super hearty, warm, and flavorful with a bit of spiciness. It had a lot of vegetables, so It was also very nutritious - which was a plus to me. We also ordered the warm chocolate cake with ice cream on top, perfect dessert. Right amount of sweetness, super fresh warm cake, delicious and deep chocolate flavor, and a creamy delicious ice cream on top, which made the perfect combination. I am not a dessert fan, but this was delicious. To drink, we ordered the Korean tea (I forgot the specific name for it, but it said it was "korean"), also very nice and light flavor.
The service was also a high point. The whole staff was friendly and welcomed us kindly even without reservation made by our side. The woman kindly asked if it was okay for us to have 1hr for the dinner, since the place available was reserved after that time and the service was right on time, the food came fast and we could enjoy it without being in a rush.
The place was also very nice and warm, the staff was very welcoming and the music was also pleasing, not loud, so we could talk comfortably.
In conclusion, I would risk to say that, so far, during our stay in Vienna, this was actually the best food experience we've had here. It's definitely one of the best I...
