I am going to give this place two stars.
The positives are that the restaurant is very nice inside and is at a great location as it is very central in the city and is very large inside which means that's nine times out of ten you will probably find a table.
The negatives are that not all the male staff are polite or very friendly.
There menu also needs go be looked over thoroughly and revamped as it is a Unacceptable for them to advertise themselves as a Greek food establishment and then for them to not actually serve proper Greek food.
Their greek version equivalent of a greek salad for some reason does not include tomato cucumber or feta cheese.
Secondly the only greek dips that they offered were tzatziki and tarama(there tarama included what I believe was potato inside which I have never tasted at any Greek restaurant around the world). They were missing two other essential tradiotanal dips called Tahini and Houmous but when I asked they did not even know what it was.
Thirdly there are two types of Pita bread that are usually made within Greek Cuizine and that is a small round Pita which is usually fried and then donner/Gyro is placed in the middle and wrapped in the bread and the second is the main traditional pita bread which is charcoal grilled and toasted to be eaten with the main course or starters.
Overall I cannot say that the Greek food there was adequate and certainly not worth the €80 feel that was charged. Please see...
Read moreIf you want to try greek food, DON’T GO!!! I visited Vienna about a month ago, on a school trip and our group dined for three evenings in this restaurant. As soon as we arrived, we sensed a strong and weird smell which of course threw me off. The staff actually seemed nice and welcoming in the beginning, but when one of our trip organisers pointed out the bad food quality, the owner started speaking to her with irony just because she pointed out the obvious. I don’t know if the quality of the food has something to do with the fact that we paid prior for all our food considering the good reviews, or that the food is generally bad. Because we came as a group, everyone had the same dishes and everyone agreed that the salad was completely stale, the meats where drenched in sauces to cover the bad quality of the meat and the general experience was terrible. I don’t think it is a coincidence that 100 people who dined here agreed. As a greek, THIS IS NOT GREEK FOOD!!! It has absolutely nothing to do with greek food. Calling this greek food is very offensive and stop catfishing people who don’t know what our cuisine really...
Read moreWe were so happy to come here. We made a reservation, so they sat at a separate hall, it was empty at first but then a big group of Greeks came, probably around 30 people, it looked like one big extended family.
The waitress greeted us with glasses of ouzo even before we ordered anything. We ordered warm and cold appetizer plates, that would be quite enough for two people, I think. Then we had lamb souvlaki and grilled fish, both came with a big side salad. I mean big. Everything was fresh and delicious. We tried two Greek wines as well, both to our full satisfaction. Anyway we ordered more than we actually could finish, but still we don't regret it.
By the time we finished our meals, the Greek family started to dance some transitional dances right between the tables. It was very touchy and created an unbelievable atmosphere.
The waitress brought us two Metaxa brandy's before we left, it was quite nice too.
Overall the staff was very fast, efficient and nice too.
I would definitely recommend it to the people who like the feel of the small traditional Greek tavern with great food! Mind it, it was not much...
