Unacceptable service and Hygiene issues at Le Bol:

I recently dined at Le Bol and had one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I’ve ever encountered. Halfway through eating my salad, I discovered a caterpillar/worm on my plate. I immediately called a waiter, and while they took the plate away, what happened next was shocking.

Another waiter approached me, and instead of apologizing, she started yelling, “It’s over, you can go!” I was taken aback by her aggressive tone and tried to calmly explain the situation, expecting an apology or at least an acknowledgment of the issue. Instead, she brushed off my concern, saying they handle a lot of salad every day, that it’s a “bio” salad, and that such things “happen.” She even shouted that if I didn’t like it, I could leave, insisting that the restaurant has been operating for 25 years without ever having this problem before.

While they eventually took the salad off my bill, my friends who were dining with me were so put off by the situation that they couldn’t even finish their own salads. This speaks volumes about how unsettling the whole experience was.

Le Bol’s staff clearly lacks basic customer service skills and the ability to handle complaints professionally. Finding a worm in your food is unacceptable, regardless of whether it’s a “bio” product, and customers deserve a sincere apology and proper resolution, not aggression.

The rude and dismissive attitude of the waiters here is not only unprofessional but could ruin anyone’s impression of the city. I strongly advise against dining at Le Bol if you expect basic hygiene standards and respectful service. I used to be a regular customer at your café, frequently visiting with my family and friends. However, after today's incident (13 June 2023) I am reconsidering my preferences. I no longer wish to patronize a café where the waitstaff is impolite and rude. When we came with my daughter and ordered two salads, there was a series of unfortunate events. Firstly, they brought me my salad after 5 minutes but then asked my daughter about her salad choice. We patiently waited for another 10 minutes, and when I approached another waitress to inquire about my daughter's salad, she informed me that it was still being prepared because we allegedly placed the order 10 minutes later. Despite explaining that both orders were placed simultaneously, the waitress continued to insist that we made the second order later. Had your employee apologized for her colleague's mistake and clarified the situation, we would have patiently waited. However, your employee persisted in proving us wrong. We maintained a calm demeanor throughout the interaction, but your colleague stood by and continued to argue with us. Consequently, any desire to remain in your café completely dissipated. MY MONEY WAS STOLEN AND THE RESTAURANT PROTECTED THE THIEF On 29/11/2024 I had a reservation at 18:30. Behind me, there was sitting a man. I had 190€ in my purse. I kept feeling that he was moving and when I turned around my PURSE WAS OPEN and he was starting at me. I started asking for help because he stole my money and his wallet had the SAME MONEY THAT I HAD BEFORE (190€ all in the same bills). I started CALLING FOR HELP but this man started threatening me. I asked the waiters to call the manager, but they refused. Then I asked to call the police AND THE WAITERS SAID THAT THEY WILL NOT CALL THE POLICE AND IF I DO SO, THEY WILL SAY NOTHING HAPPENED!

THIS RESTAURANT ENDORSES THIEFS AND VIOLENCE AND DOES NOT PROTECT THEIR CLIENTS. Not only my money was stolen, the restaurant didn’t do anything to help and let the thief get away. THIS WAS THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I CAME TO ENJOY MY EVENING BUT INSTEAD IT WAS RUINED.
