Ein Bericht über das Joseph Brot hat mich neugierig gemacht und am Samstag nahm ich mir die Zeit und fuhr in den 1. Bezirk um mir Joseph Brot zu kaufen. Zum probieren nahm ich eine Kaisersemmel, 1 Ciabatta und ein kleines Urbrot. Beim Autofahren naschte ich bereits am Ciabatta und ein Glücksgefühl überflutete meinen Gaumen. Die Oliven, Tomaten, die leichte salzige Priese. Eine Genussexplosion. Leider schaffte es das Ciabatta nicht bis nach hause, ich habe es während der Autofahrt verspeist. Die Kaisersemmel ist sehr schön anzuschauen und sie hält was sie verspricht. Nun zum Urbrot: Es riecht würzig, schmeckt nach Gewürzen. Ich glaube es ist Anis und Kümmel dabei. Dieses Urbrot war eines der besten Brote die ich bisher gegessen habe und das Gebäck, besonders das Ciabatta, davon muss ich beim nächsten Mal mehrere einkaufen. Den Preis mit der Qualität verglichen, finde ich den Preis akzeptabel. Gutes Handwerk hat seinen Preis. Habe daher ein neues Hobby: Regenmäßig Frühstücken mit Joseph Brot und Gebäck am Sonntag mit der Familie. Denen hat das Brot ebenfalls sehr gut geschmeckt. PS: Personal sehr nett und hat mir auch noch einen Treuepass mitgegeben mit den Worten: ich freue mich auf Ihren nächsten Besuch. Ich freue mich auch.

Me and my significant other enjoyed Joseph Brot. The atmosphere was nice, not too crowded, you have space and you are able to hear the person next to you without a problem. We ate the Strudel and it was simply the most amazing strudel we have ever tried, definitely recommend. Our coffee was the chocolate one and it was really nice, but not that strong if you are in need for awakening. Great place, worth a visit.

I LOVE BREAD. I was told that Vienna has the best bakers in Europe. They were not wrong. This was my first baker destination in Vienna and it was an excellent choice. I loved their bread. I loved their coffee. They might not have a seating area but you can enjoy the baking goods in the public area. EXCELLENT . LOVED IT .

Me and my significant other enjoyed Joseph Brot. The atmosphere was nice, not too crowded, you have space and you are able to hear the person next to you without a problem. We ate the Strudel and it was simply the most amazing strudel we have ever tried, definitely recommend. Our coffee was the chocolate one and it was really nice, but not that strong if you are in need for awakening. Great place, worth a visit.

During our christmas weekend in Vienna, we stayed near Joseph Brot and just had to try their selection of organic and locally grown breads. We tried croissants, pan au chocolat, apfel strudel, , a ham, pickle and horseradish sandwich and sweet potato hummus sandwich. Everything was tasty, and filling. Croissants were a bit on the heavy side, and I prefer them fluffier. Everything else was top notch, and the place has soups and stews in jars, local yoghurt, all kinds of cheeses and charcuterie.

*we kept wandering if the name was connected to Josip Broz aka former president...

I had what was by far the best gluten free or wheat free bread I've ever had (hands down and I've had my fair share to base this statement on) at a restaurant that buys its bread from Joseph. I asked 3 different waiters if it was really gluten free because it was SO good (they confirmed and then I had no reaction later). Amazing. Now if only I could get it in NY! Seriously, Joseph, I'd open up a location here if you wanted a partner, just...
