NOT POC Tourist Friendly!!!
Storytime: My friend and I were visiting as tourists when we got caught in a heavy rainstorm. With no idea where we were or where to eat, we stumbled into this restaurant completely by chance. Several tables were visibly empty, with no reservation signs in sight, so we waited by the entrance to be seated.
Now, we had done our research with a local before arriving in Austria. We familiarized ourselves with restaurant etiquette, colloquial phrases, but none of it mattered here. A male server made direct eye contact with us several times and walked right past without a word, a nod, or even the basic courtesy of acknowledging we were there. We greeted the bar staff. No response. Still, we waited patiently, assuming they were just busy. No worries, we can wait.
At this point we started noticing other patrons looking at us, probably confused as to why we were not being helped.
Then, another walk-in arrived. A white blonde woman, also clearly caught in the storm. Within seconds of stepping in, she was warmly welcomed, handed a menu, and seated at one of the empty tables.
My friend and I were baffled. We had been waiting there for over 15 minutes.

The service was abhorrent. I went in to get some food last Tuesday before a concert next door and as I stood waiting for a table nobody attended to me. The hostess didn't even make eye contact, passed me by a few times, and honestly paid me no attention. A white couple came in a few minutes after me, and stood beside me as they were also waiting for a table. The hostess / waitress immediately greeted them with a smile, eye contact, and something like "I'll be there in a minute!", and returned to them after handling something at another customer's table.
At this point, the white couple pointed to me and probably said something like "he was here first". The hostess begrudgingly looked at me (no apology, no words, nothing) and I was like yes, table for 1. (I don't speak German, so those lines above are the rough translations based on body language of what she was saying to the other couple).
The food wasn't that great either to add to it. I ordered the stew, and the beef was too dry and...
Read moreFriendly place with nice food. We enjoyed sitting with our company of two adults and three teenagers outside on the terrace on a beautiful spring evening.
I ordered a porn star martini which was truly excellent. As a main course I went for the taflespitz, a local specialty with boiled beef. Very good! My company liked their food also. I got the opportunity to try a Zirbenschaps, made from pinecones. Kind of a strange taste, but a nice way to finish off our meal.
