Masaniello — Restaurant in Vienna

After living in Rome for a year, moving to Vienna made it challenging to find an authentic Italian restaurant—until I discovered Masaniello! Fortunately, it’s close to where I live, so I can visit often. I’ve been contemplating not writing a review as it’s becoming harder to get a reservation.

This restaurant is truly southern Italian, and the pizzas are perfection. Their daily specials highlight seasonal ingredients, and the appetizers are fantastic. The service is beyond amazing—unpretentious and friendly. You can also order pizza for takeaway, though it’s almost torture to walk five minutes...

Stumbled upon this place with my wife after checking in to our hotel in the evening and what luck it was! Place is run by incredibly kind and happy italians in true italian style, which was wonderful for us as we love Italy. Food was great, as was the wine. We had burrata as apetizer and a pizza each. The dough especially was just like in Italy. Tiramisu was lovely too. Waiter was happy, kind and chatty as we attempted to talk with him in Italian. If you like Italy, there is a piece of it right here in Wien! We enjoyed our whole evening...

We were lucky enough to find this hidden gem on our first night in the city and the experience was absolutely flawless. The wine selection was superb, the Neapolitan pizza was authentic and delicious, the atmosphere was lively and inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Nothing to fault, plenty of reasons to visit. Needless to say, we will definitely be back again during our stay. Oh and be sure to order the tiramisu— it’s the best I...
