It was a really odd experience here, when we first entered the restaurant host just shook her head gesturing there was no space. We pointed at the bar to see if it’s ok, and she said sure.
She appeared to be the only person working in a packed restaurant, and that was understandable, but the wait was still really long. After 40 minutes, our order came out, but one of them was wrong. There was no apology or anything, just a reaction in disbelief thinking that we got the order wrong, and not her. (Note: there is no language barrier because we also spoke Vietnamese). She wasn’t rude at all, but acknowledgment would’ve been appreciated.
We grabbed utensils from another table (since we were at the bar and none were offered, which they did bring out later once they saw). There is no water or offer of any water. These are all standard restaurant procedures, and not sure why this would all be missed.
We got the second dish after a total of 55 minute wait. She did then say a quick sorry.
They also didn’t accept credit card, which was really inconvenient because we did not have enough cash. I would give this a 2-star for really poor service, but the food was very good and they allowed USD which saved us a...
Read moreI'm not a real expert but a fan and regular eater of Vietnamese food and would say this is tasty, fresh and well-cooked food, and nicely presented, but maybe doesn't quite have the wow factor taste-wise as our favourite Vietnamese at home. Papaya and beef salad was lovely. Pictured dish is the coconut curry with tofu and vegetables. For those in a hurry, maybe note the service can be a little slow (it was busy and we saw three staff who seem family members so it's understandably and okay, I'd rather the food is nice and freshly prepared) and we were brought one large glass of soda water instead of two small ones as I tried to order, thankfully we don't mind sharing a glass. Also, I'm pretty sure I ordered summer rolls with avocado and mango and we received the avocado only ones, maybe communication can be an issue? I like the fact they offer desserts which you don't get in so many Vietnamese restaurant though we didn't try them on this occasion. Btw I think they do accept card payments now but I think it's a bit off to mark a small place like this down just because they don't accept card payments as some reviewers appear...
Read moreFood was way too salty and the service here is abysmal. I have no idea how they have so many 5 star reviews. They have to be fake or this place has gone downhill. I’ve had better Vietnamese food from particularly every other Vietnamese restaurant I’ve ever been to. Stay away at all costs I do not recommend coming here. Anyone who says this is good Vietnamese has never had real Vietnamese cuisine. I’m from NYC so I know a good bowl of pho. The inside of the restaurant is tiny, hot, and the seats are extremely uncomfortable. Only 2 waiters for 40+ people. Long wait times. No English menu. A couple came in to pick up their takeout order and the waitress came to our table while we were eating and took chopsticks from our utensils box…. Beyond bizarre. Felt like I was on a game show while...
