Nirvana - Das Indische Restaurant — Restaurant in Vienna

I went to the restaurant and I was asked if I had any reservation. I said no. They said that there was not a even a single seat left at that time (around 6 p. m. but I could see many seats were unoccupied). So, they gave me option at later time around 9:30 p. m. The moment I was standing there, an Austrian couple came to the restaurant and they were asked if they had any reservation, they replied no. The person who received their message did not say that there was no seat available but started whispering with his coworkers. It seemed that they were waiting for me to leave the restaurant. As I was leaving the restaurant, I saw the austrian couple were immediately given the table! It is sad that being Indian, they treat Indian people differently. They look for their business interests rather than truthfulness and same principle for all the customers. This is a real shame! If you're an Indian, better avoid...

I really like the place for its quality of food, ambience & service. I've been going there for years and never had any issues. However, I had lunch today and ordered for the Ayurvedic vegetarian menu. The description said it is asparagus pulao and Dal Makhani. I got a plate full of Pulao and a tiny tiny portion of Dal Makhani. I made a comment to the waiter saying the Dal portion was dramatically small compared to the rice. He was extremely rude and said that's what you get for a menu. The reality is that's not how you respond and it was obvious the portions were not right. Very average food! Skip it! Im sure there is something better and more cost effective Shahi paneer was the only good dish. Murgh tikka masala- very average. Their understanding of medium/ spicy is just variations of adding garam masala. Aloo Gobhi- 0/5- Actually had to use the knife to cut gobhi, it was literally raw. The servers however understood the mistake, apologized and changed it- hence the 2 stars or would have given 0. Ambiance- Poor- the ‘outdoor seating’ is covered with glass, it actually functions like a green house. Basics such such wifi, or just sockets to charge phones are missing.
