The Ultimate Authentic Austrian Cuisine Experience!!

Marvellous!! This local place is absolutely a must visit! It is a family restaurant with authentic Austrian cuisine, emphasizing on both taste and quality. The traditional Wiener Schnitzel was the cherry on the cake - huge portions, very flavoursome, and consumed in combination with the famous Erdäpfelsalat (also the best potato salad we’ve ever tried!), one definitely makes the perfect dinner on a hot summer evening. Additionally, the price was kore than worth it for what you get. Next to that, the regional beer was good and refreshing as always. We were so impressed by the schnitzel, that we were keen on trying the famous Austrian dessert - the Apfelstrudel. However, it was a bit unfortunate that they had already sold it all out for the night; but I guess was expected, as the place was buzzing with content tourists and locals all night long. The reviews we read mentioned satisfaction from the sweet dish, so we are more than enthusiastic to come back and try it! Little heads up: to secure yourself a spot, make sure you reserve beforehand, because you either have to wait a lot, or not be able to enter at all. We were incredibly lucky to get a table on a busy summer evening without reservation and only waiting for 10-15 minutes. Moreover, the staff were very friendly and polite! They were ready to help, explain the items on the menu that we had questions about, and were looking for the quickest solution to get a table (instead of kicking us out, for example, as other places have done). Also, huge respect for their service, as we saw the waiters always running in and out of the place with full and empty plates. They were visibly occupied, yet with a smile on their faces. Overall, we had an amazing experience in this restaurant, and I couldn’t recommend it more for a full immersion in the Viennese cuisine!

reinthaler's beisl is a local restaurant serving traditional austrian dishes. when researching, it seemed like reinthaler's had good reviews from both tourists and locals, with decent prices considering the area. out of the austrian restaurants i tried in vienna, reinthaler's was one of the better ones. there is indoor and outdoor seating. we came on a sunday evening and it was crowded, but we were seated not too long after. service was relatively efficient given how crowded it was and our waitress was trying her best to attend to everyone. // veal schnitzel (~15.90 euros) // the schnitzel was pretty standard, pretty much like any other schnitzel we tried in europe. it is plain so id recommend eating it with something such as potato salad or condiment. // homemade sausage with sauerkraut and grated potatoes (~12.90 euros) // i thought the sausages were good and the sauerkraut was quite tasty too. it is more mild (less sour) here which we preferred to sauerkraut at the other restaurants we tried. the ball of grated potatoes was okay. // large mixed salad (~8.80 euros) // we really craved some vegetables so we got a mixed salad. it was mixed greens plus potato salad (not the creamy kind). we liked how the potato salad was lighter and served with greens. // potato salad // we liked the potato salad. unlike the heavy mayonnaise american style, here it is much lighter with thinly sliced potato, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, etc.

Googled Austrian food close to me and went to the higher rated restaurant, this one. The trek was twice as long without data access on my cell. A race against battery drainage stats. Of course there's a line..a medium one A big group is ahead of me but the hostess asks if there's a single person in the line to sit with another sap just like me. This mousy voice coming out of a cute young thing behind me says yes.... but I'm ahead of her, and I'm starving. So, I'm seated at this tiny table with a guy. No, we're not holding hands but we theoretically easily could. He's Australian....and loves to travel...go figure...and his name is Steve too so I know he's straight. So we laughed and laughed for the next hour and a half over my pork schnitzel ( good one, thin, breaded a bit in n dry side) and whatever he had plus a couple of cold ones each ( draft beer was great)....and then I broke it to him....you almost had dinner with a young cute sorority girl...and we laughed some more....but I saw a gleem of regret in his eyes.... maybe a birth of a tear..or two. I could be wrong. We were both gonna try the Austrian apple strudel..but they were out ( as in sold out )...go figure. Until the next time amigo ( mate)...oh and separate checks please...

We just had a fantastic dinner at Reinthaler's! For starters, their mixed salad was great - especially their potato salad. The cordon bleu was crispy and flavorsome with generous fillings and the spaetzle was loaded with chunks of cheese and creamy goodness. The fried onions on top especially offered the perfect balance of salt and savory to the dish. The spinach dumplings weren't the best we've had in Vienna, as they mostly comprised of bread (lacked spinach/cheese) and were quite tough, however the sundried tomatoes and dressing enhanced their flavor. Our side of roast potatoes were seasoned perfectly and delicious. One thing to note - our waitress was a little peculiar in that she kept insinuating that we had ordered too much food - and even convinced us to order one dish less. Probably good advice because we had in fact ordered enough food - but not exactly the pushback you want to have when you're excited to try new dishes/foods. Nonetheless, fast and efficient service - our meals came out impressively quick. Good value and great portions - would definitely return!

The food was good, nothing mindblowing as opposed to another schnitzel I had in Wien. However, the SERVICE by the oversized lady with short red hair was AWFUL. When we saw our friends sitting outside, I wanted to ask the said lady whether we could bring three chairs to sit with our friends. First, she ignored me. After I asked again, she replied very rudely and impatiently, so I went back to my friends without a reply. She then followed me outside and started yelling at me IN FRONT OF THE 10-15 PEOPLE WAITING OUTSIDE that pulling chairs to another table outside would result in a fine of 3000 Euros and lots of other useless trivia. How embarrassing and for no reason! She should either learn some manners or quit her job entirely! She is doing disservice to the other kind people working in this restaurant. For example, the lady with tattoos who served us was super kind. Still, the damage has been done.
