Restaurant Achilleus — Restaurant in Vienna

Decoration was correct, it looked clean and neat. We entered because prices in Vienna are outrageous and quality of food is questionable. I didn’t know what to expect because the bad reviews seem to be more visible than the good. It was my mum’s first time having Greek food. First of all, service was welcoming and attentive. We ordered bread with kalamata olives: bread was fresh, olives were super tasty and the olive oil as well. Then we ordered Mousaka for both. It was delicious and filling, the portion was proper sized towards large. We had a small green salad as a side for it: the use of thyme was just a touch for the salad and it was nice. If you expect people from Greece to not use thyme, you’re barking at the wrong tree. As a first time, it was approved with flying colours. If I’m in Vienna any other occasion I will certainly consider coming here again!

Was looking for somewhere to eat with a table for 6 and a 13month old baby. The menu looked nice and they could accomodate our party size. Although one of the staff was practically dragging us in as we're trying to look at the outside menu, we decided to go in. Nice place inside, had to wait a while for food but when it arrived was enjoyed by all. The waiter was friendly but a bit to much in your face for our liking. At the end we asked for the bill, as the waiter gave us the bill he hung around and said to another member of the party 'the bill doesn't include tip' even though this was written at the start of the menu clearly with a recommended percentage. He then hovered over our shoulders as we put cash into the bill wallet and quickly took it off us as we was closing the wallet. Wouldn't go back again due to the waiter and his forwardness/rudeness but compliments...

I had recently traveled to Athens a few months earlier and was wanting to enjoy a Greek experience again. This restaurant fulfilled my desire to enjoy greek cuisine and interactions with warm and personable people.

I ordered take away and was very pleased with everything. The order was prepared quickly while I waited. The staff offered me a place to sit and a glass of water so I could be comfortable while I waited. The meal was brought to me in a surprisingly short time (10 minutes or so).

I ordered the mixed grill and Greek salad. The meat was fully cooked while still being tender. The vegetables in the salad were very fresh. The olives and olive oil was just how I remembered enjoying in Greece.

I was so pleased I went back for a second meal before I ended my trip in Vienna. Both experiences were excellent. I will definitely be returning when I go back...
