I have been 2 times now. The first time was very spontaneous where they could fit us in on a short notice with the Shabu Shabu also. On that occasion the waitress was really nice, patient and helpful even though they had a lot of clients. Therefore I recommended it for a birthday party. The food was amazing also on the second time. However the service was very disappointing. The waiter was awesome and nice. But there was a lady serving who was unfriendly and cold. We were a group of 8 people with a reservation done 1 week ago. But right from the beginning she gave us the feeling that they were overwhelmed because they expected also a second group 1 1/2 hours after us (that arrived even later) The lady hurried us pretty much through the Shabu Shabu without really explaining anything to us and putting the food into the pot instead of letting us decide what we wish to add ourselves. We didn’t even finish the soup yet and they removed already the electric stove and placing the pot on a dirty plate. Since they were rushing us that much we didn't feel comfortable to eat desert, which we normally always do! So to sum it up - the food is good, prices are okay for the sizes of the plates - but we will not come back with a group with that kind of attitude the lady showed. So you have to be lucky with the service (only the guy serving us was...
Read moreLet's start with the good stuff....the food. This place offers traditional Korean food with the menu including the hotpot fondue dish called shabu shabu ( preorder necessary) along with classics like kroean fried chicken and bibimbap. They food was indeed delicious, the portion size was ok for the price. I was especially fond of the bao buns and the chilli chicken. Why the three stars? The service...for a place with prices well in the mid range for Asian cuisine in Vienna, the service was sub par. The ambiance is simple, maybe not the best for date and in our case, the table service was slow and sloppy, starting from the fact that our reserved table was not prepared when we arrived ( no, the place wasn't full). So go for the food, don't get annoyed by...
Read moreI recently ordered from Shabu Shabu Wien through Foodora, and it was a great experience from start to finish. We tried the braised bulgogi bao and the sweet chili Korean fried chicken, and both dishes were absolutely delicious.
The bao was soft and flavorful, filled generously with tender savory bulgogi. The Korean fried chicken had the perfect crunch and just the right amount of heat from the sweet chili glaze. Everything was fresh, well-packed, and still warm when it arrived.
Definitely looking forward to ordering again soon. Highly recommend if you're craving Korean comfort food delivered...
