THE FLAVE OF VIENNA — Restaurant in Vienna

We thoroughly enjoyed dining at THE FLAVE OF VIENNA. On our penultimate evening in Vienna before catching a night train to Venice, I first thought to go to an indy restaurant to enjoy typical Austrian fare. I decided to dine here instead because of its convenient location right next to the Wien Hauptbahnhof, our much enjoyed stay at the co-located Novotel, and our luggage being accommodatively stored in the hotel for the day after having checked out while we went sightseeing in the city; we did not regret it at all. My wife and I both ordered the Schnitzel and it was a delight. The dessert was also excellent, reports my wife. The service was friendly and efficient, too.

I must leave also a separate compliment for the breakfast with the hotel, which ostensibly is staffed by the same people and the food from the same kitchen. The variety and freshness are amazing - I particularly enjoyed the smoked salmon, at least 3 different kind of sausages and large cheese selection. If you are staying at the Novotel, by every means opt for the extra-charge breakfast - it is well worth it!

I did not like food there (I had pork snitzel with potatoes): I didn't think it's possible to ruin potatoes but apparently it is, which is quite sad cause it's not a cheap place. Coffee is also quite average, but I haven't had a significantly better coffee anywhere in Vienna yet so maybe it's just not to my taste.

However, I'm still going there once in a while cause the atmosphere is amazing, staff professional and sweet, tables and armchairs comfy and pretty, and I just love working there, it feels very cozy and appealing. I just don't order meals anymore, but aperol spritz and strudel are great. Very convenient place for someone living in Ibis or Novotel to have a drink or a dessert while working without leaving the building. If I didn't stay in the hotel, I wouldn't probably go...

Good looking place with poor food and hugely disapointing waiting staff. The food is nothing comparable to the description of the restuarant and really waste of time and money. Huge disappointment also from a waiting staff that barely exista and can be described. If you looking for a place to eat better to go...
