We were visiting Vienna and decided to try this Persian Restaurant out. As soon as we walked in the host told us they close at 9 (we got there at 8pm) which did not make sense since it was still an hour left until closing. I don’t know if this was how it worked in Vienna or what but it was very unprofessional and rude . We ordered joojeh torsh (sour chicken kabob) and koobideh and the koobideh smelled and tasted very bad and fatty. I think they used mostly lamb in their recipe which made it this way. Also, the joojeh torsh was nothing like joojeh torsh thats made in Iran or the original recipe. All it was was chunks of chicken breast marinated in pomegranate sauce (which didnt taste like pomegranate and was not even sour) and a little walnut and a few pomegranates sprinkled on top to make it look nice and presentable. Unfortunately we did not like the food nor the experience and did not say anything other than “it was good thank you” to the host because we didnt want our trip to have any drama included. We were there for Xmas vacation so we just ate what was served regardless of anything since it was cold and we were hungry (and ate in 15 mins) so we can just leave since they stated that they will close at 9pm. Do not recommend this place to my fellow persians.

Read moreMy first choice wasn't this restaurant but my first choice was closed on Sunday so I've Decided to eat at Toranj because of the reviews, and because i came ffrom slovakia to walk around Vienna and get some good Iranian food, but unfortunately I can't understand the hype about this place. Food got to me semi cold, taste of the kobeda kebab was like chicken more than meat it did not taste that good , by the time we reached 2 pm almost most dishes were unavailable, okra stew with meat did not taste good meat was very tough and hard to chew. Lamb chops were also tough and over cooked. No complimentary appetizers as most Iranian restaurant serve before food, no bread was given we had to order and it had nothing to do with Iranian bread and was cold and old. Honestly I don't understand how people given this restaurant 4.7 rating. Just being true and honest about what was my experience no other reason...
Read moreI recently dined at Toranj, and it was an exceptional experience with authentic vibes. The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portions that leave you more than satisfied. Their tea is a must-try – perfectly brewed and flavorful. The atmosphere at Toranj is both authentic and inviting, enhanced by the beautifully designed wooden partitions that provide a sense of privacy while dining. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. On top of that, the cleanliness of the restaurant was impeccable, which I truly appreciated.
If you're looking for delicious food, a cozy atmosphere, and excellent service, I highly recommend Toranj. It's a fantastic spot for a memorable meal. Oh, also their appetizers are unbelieveable, they are highly recommended. Just make sure you call to reserve a table...
