SAHiL Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Baku City

Absolutely the best meal we had in all of Baku. The door is a bit difficult to find as it's on the side of the building facing away from the waterfront. But once you do, it's fabulous!

We started with appetizers of the pickle plate and smoked fish assortment. Just an awesome combination. Then we had the fish soup which was just perfect and plenty hot. There's not much more disappointing than luke warm soup. After those we had dinners of the beef liver kebabs and marinated lamb. Both were done to perfection. The basket of assorted breads was a welcome accompaniment to everything.

The sparkling water and beer were very cold. Coffee at the end was delicious, as well.

We would have tried a dessert or two but there was no room left!

We splurged but the total bill was only 116 m, or about $60USD. Very reasonable for a top quality, upscale restaurant.

This is not a drop in and eat quick place. The menu is a full color hefty book to look through....

I recently dined at Sahil Restaurant, and my experience was a mix of highs and lows. The moment I stepped in, I was impressed by the luxurious decor, which set the tone for a fine dining experience. The ambience was elegant and sophisticated, making it perfect for special occasions.

However, the food was not what I expected . I ordered a meat dish, which unfortunately, was a bit hard and lacked tenderness. The flavors were good, but the texture was a disappointment.

On the other hand, our waiter, Baba, was exceptional. He was courteous, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. He checked on us regularly to ensure everything was to our liking.

Overall, while the food didn't quite meet my expectations, the excellent service and beautiful decor made up for it. With a little improvement in the kitchen, Sahil Restaurant has the potential to be a top-notch...

The dinner I had at this restaurant was one of the best dinners I had in my entire life. It was an experience in itself, and one that I wish I could repeat over and over again. The ambiance, the lighting, the light music, the discrete but great smell, the service, the vast menu and the food were all impeccable. Our party of three ordered an entree and 2 appetizers each, and every single item we tasted was out of this world. The crispy eggplant salad and my Fisindjan were to die for but everything else I tried was incredible as well. Our server knew practically every single dish on the menu (and apparently there is at least 98!) and he gave us great pointers about portions and tastes. This dining experience was unequivocally the highlight of our visit in Baku for all three of us. When I return to Baku this place will absolutely be a priority to visit...
