Woodhouse Grill Banani — Restaurant in Dhaka Metropolitan

Went there to get their Sirloin steak Offer at BDT 1,550. Was actually satisfied with food and service this time around. There were rush but food was served on time as per instructions given. I have been there a few times before and this review is based on my latest Visit. I don't recommend this point at all.

Woodhouse Grill is probably one of the worst food joint out there in terms of service. They think they can do whatever they want and go away with it.

Don't buy Woodhouse Grill's Iftar Platters. They are really small comparing to what they show you in the image. They are not worth it by any means . Instead of serving regular good stuffs, they are gonna serve you underwhelming filler stuffs.

So Three of use decided to went there for Iftar today. Our plan was to get two Sherrif's Bounty Platter. We called in at around 1:30 PM to Book ahead. We told that we want to get two Sherrif's Bounty Platter. They told us that they can't book over phone. We have to come to their place by 5:30 PM to confirm the order.

So we were a bit late and arrived at 5:40. We were told that they can't serve us Sherrif's Bounty as it was out of stock. They told us that we could have confirmed our order before coming in. We told them we called earlier and you guys said we can't unless we come to the shop. They said by booking advance we would have booked our order Which they never told us to begin with. They refused to serve us anything from regular menu as well which I understand since all they care about it profit and ripping of people during iftar. So we decided to order the 56 cowboy platter. We ordered two of them since we know how much we can eat.

Then after a few moment, a managerish guy came in and told us that he has noticed we ordered two Platters for three of us and they can't "allow us to share". I asked whether they don't have the necessary utensils for that . They said , they prepare each platter for one people and we need to get another one. If we want to share , they have this broncho rib platter which none of us wanted to have. He tried to upsell us this.

We were shocked , awed and decided to leave the place. Then the manager said that " Lemme check whether the cooking for your order started". Since it was started they said, they will serve us.

Now coming to the platter. It wasn't that good at well. We asked whether we can decide how much cooked the steak will be . They said we can't, since it's already pre decided. The filler items tasted awfully bad and the portions were really really small. Not at all worth 2500 BDT. See the image and decide for yourself.

My main gripe is their service. Firstly they had a communication gap, secondly they had the audacity to upsell us and treat us like this. They can keep getting away with it with their underwhelming behaviour service because this is Bangladesh.

For sure I am not going back to their place ever again. And I would suggest you beware of...

Great behavior & prompt service, Good ambiance, Amazing hospitality! The staffs were extremely polite and the Owner himself was present there to take feedbacks from the guests. They served us complimentary Corn Soup first which was a very nice gesture I must say. The waiters were always alert to giving us tissues as soon as we ran out of them + listening carefully to every need. They served the dishes after 30 minutes which can be considered as a standard wait time for preparing any grilled steak... However - we ordered Two Sirloin steaks, but they served my one first and served my younger brother's one 10-12 minutes after giving mine; which pissed my brother off as he had to watch me eating mine while he waited empty-handed. That was a bit dissapointing as being a proper steak house they should have ample chef's and grillers to serve the customers in time and tbh there weren't many other guests there except us so why the delay for the 2nd one? :/

The steak was the best I've tasted in Dhaka - Well grilled, juicy & tender. I've had various steaks at places like THE ROOF, Cilantro, Tree House and even Steak House BD; but I must (honestly) say this was one tops every other in terms of delicacy and taste. The potato wedges were just as they should be - crispy & spicy. The rice was very fresh & felt hot from the inside.. Overall, Perfect in every aspect. Yes, I admit - like every other proper beef steaks, this is also pretty expensive. But if you're willing to shell out some cash on an occassion to treat your tastebuds with a bit of exquisite greatness - then it's surely worth it 100%... #Recommended ;) (y)

I recently visited Woodhouse Grill, and it was truly an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the warm and inviting ambiance. The rustic, cowboy-themed decor with long wooden tables, stylish chairs, and subtle Western accents created a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely outstanding! I tried both the ribeye and T-bone steaks, and both exceeded my expectations. The ribeye was perfectly marbled, juicy, and cooked to perfection, easily one of the best I’ve had in Dhaka. The T-bone had a rich, robust flavor and was equally satisfying. Each steak was thoughtfully plated with sides like creamy mashed potatoes, sautéed vegetables, and grilled tomatoes, which complemented the main dishes beautifully. The homemade sauces, especially the mushroom and cheese options, added a gourmet touch that elevated the experience even further.

Don't forgot to try the the hollandaise and cheese sauces. It's a must. If you don’t try the corn salad, you gonna miss the most delicious corn salad in town.

The service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, guiding me through the menu and ensuring that my dining experience was seamless. They were professional yet warm, making me feel genuinely welcomed.

Woodhouse Grill also offers convenient facilities such as free street parking and multiple payment options. Their special offers on Sundays and Tuesdays make the visit even more appealing for steak enthusiasts.
