We went to Tudo for the second time in the past one week. Although it's a relatively new set up in the fine dining scene in Dhaka, I have always been impressed with the food they serve.
I can tell that they genuinely want to do better because there have been multiple waves of feedback and improvements that I have noticed from one visit to the next.
Starting off with their ambience, I have to say that it is a lovely little corner in Banani. The walls are adorned with classy Bangladeshi art and the Rokeya Sultana on the first floor is a conversation starter for anyone who sees it. The clean lines of the rattan furniture, the industrial ceiling and bright indirect light perfectly complement each other
Coming to the food, these are my favorite dishes - The fried prawn tempura roll is sensational. I have it every time and it never fails to impress. The pumpkin soup is a quiet and sophisticated choice. What can pumpkin soup possibly have to offer but one taste of the soup and you realize how much there is that one can do with a simple vegetable Golden baskets are always a safe choice. They never failed to please and are a staple. For crab lovers, thankfully there are plenty of choices. The softshell crab in a refreshing and tangy salad is a crowd pleaser. The chili crabs are unmissable if you are willing to deal with the mess. For larger groups, the steamed fish is great for sharing. It's a big helping so order if you are a group of four or bigger.
In other food choices some of the lesser liked options were Chicken Karaage Mushroom salad Spinach wrapped dumplings with bean paste
The dessert department is a bit lacking and I wish they had a couple of more choices All in all, I think the restaurant is filling a much needed gap in fine dining forthe pan Asian cuisine. I will definitely be coming...
