Coming in we were pleasantly surprised by the warm and cosy atmosphere and the enthusiasm of the staff, we were seated at our table and that's when the shortcomings started to show.

Though fitting with the vibe, the chairs were a bit uncomfortably small and hard.

Drinks were given, we ordered food and were disappointed at what we got for the price. The croquettes were for the most part alright however, one of the croquettes (with meatballs) was sour and most definitely expired. When mentioned this to staff, there was no act to actually confirm this nor was this (as far as I know) communicated to the kitchen staff, this whole situation was overshadowed by another incident that was solved very quickly, but nonetheless was this matter very important and in my opinion critical to have been communicated to the kitchen to prevent this happening in the future. The sausage was extremely dry, the mustard saus given with could not save it. The burgers on the other hand were received quite well.

Last bit to mention is the lack of potato based options, unlike the name of the restaurant would suggest, this place only serves fries with a moderate amount of toppings and sauces to choose from.

Not worth the price, limited options (which usually means quality dishes, unfortunately not the case here) and a quite immature staff that likes to talk more with visiting friends than paying attention to customers, however a competent manager should fix this problem...

Terrible service and bad food.

I arrived 20 minutes before opening time and they did not let me wait inside (it was raining and I was with my dog)

I asked for a table for 4, my wife would arrive a little later, they first put me in a big shared table with some strangers even though there was a table for 4 which stayed free for at least 15 minutes.

They kept asking me when my wife, daughter and sister in law would come and eventually took the table away because they had 'customers waiting'. A few minutes after this my wife arrived and had no available seats so she left. Almost immediately after a couple in a table behind me left and their table stayed empty until I left (in about 15 minutes) so they really didn't have that many customers waiting in the end.

About the food: Fries were not great, not crispy on the outside and too mushy. The sausage was too dry and tasteless, you could find much better fries almost anywhere else...

Had really high hopes for this very well-rated place, but the experience was honestly disappointing. The waitress was extremely rude and treated us in a very condescending way, almost like we were children. She seated us at a high table, which wasn’t comfortable, so I kindly asked if we could move. She said yes and asked us to wait, which we did, standing beside the high table. Then, she told us twice to sit down, as if we were doing something wrong.

When I asked if they had halal options, her whole attitude changed and her face literally dropped. It felt like pure discrimination. Mind you, we’re not even wearing hijabs, so I can’t imagine how she treats visibly Muslim customers.

A regular table became free shortly after, and when we asked if we could move there, she flat-out said no. It was shocking and humiliating. We left immediately.

Definitely not the experience you’d expect from such a highly...

Stop. This place is super hot fire. The fries are absolutely loaded and full of flavor. My friend and I ordered two small with toppings of "Old Bruges" and "Muscels from Brussels" along with two burgers and two beers. Off the bat, don't waste your time on a burger. They're not all that great and why fill your stomach with average when you can just have more phenomenal fries. The place is called "The Potatoe Bar", they know what they're doing with them fries. "But Nathaniel, you gave them four stars; why not five?", you ask. Unfortunately, the service was 💩 and almost took away from the celestial spuds. I'm sure this isn't common, but it happened to me so I grade what I got. You've already wasted more time than you should have reading this - head in there, get blessed, and I hope the service is better. ✌🏽

We stopped in for a late lunch snack. We were not hungry enough for a full meal, and the potato bar had exactly what we were looking for... loaded fries with cheese, ham, and sauce. We split one order, and it was much more than a snack. We weren't sure what size to order, a medium fry with our special sauce - Old Bruges Squirt. We also wanted to try a croquettes and picked the meatball. It was delicious! Be careful however when diving in... they are really hot! It was 15 Euros for the combination. The server came to our table to take the order, and you pay at the bar when you are leaving. We left full and happy with our choice. If we were hungry, the burger would have been very tempting it was much less than the others in the area.

Nice cozy "friture" with friendly staff. The fries were nicely fried, slightly cripsy oitside and soft inside. Prawn croquette which was served with a keropok (prawn cracker) was nice but nothing spectacular. Beer was light, crisp and delicious. Goes well with the fried food. Would have given 5 stars but I found the sauces at €2 for a ramekin (it's claimed homemade) & the prawn croquette €5 to be expensive. The prices of the fries and drinks were expected from a tourist area with higher rents. Still cannot get over prices in Europe for water and beer are the same €3.20 each. I guess thats why many Europeans drink beer? 😅 I paid €24 total for my "street food snack".
