Pizza at NONA is amazingly tasty! If you want to enjoy a real Neapolitan pizza in the centre of Brussels, this is the right place for you. The Margherita I ordered was well cooked and I didn't feel overloaded afterwards. The ingredients were of good quality and I could really feel like I was eating the same pizza as the one I eat in Italy. So, if it was just for the pizza, I would assign five stars.
However, the personnel was not attentive at all and the place was incredibly crowded with too little space between the tables. It seems like they try to fit the higher number of people possible in a such a limited size space, with the result of having the customers apologise to each other every time they make a movement.
Additionally, when I ordered my water, the waitress asked me whether I wanted the 35cl bottle or the 75cl bottle. I chose the latter but she showed up with a 35cl, and I didn't even have the time to realise it and tell her that she made a mistake that she was already gone. When I ordered another 75cl bottle ten minutes later, she brought me a 35cl bottle again. My friend ordered a Coke but he never received it. Probably they forgot about the order but I mean, if you have a ridiculous amount of people in a pizzeria that your own waiters can't handle, just remove some tables so your customers will feel more comfortable (and fully enjoy their pizza) and you as a waiter can manage the situation in...
Read moreWe went here on our final night in Brussels after hearing great things and were not disappointed!
Great location not far away from the main attraction and easy to find on the main road. Don't be confused between the two Nona restaurants one is for pizza and one is for pasta, we went to the pizza one. This is a little confusing having two so close to each other but not too difficult.
The seating was quite close together but that just shows how popular this place is which is why so many people go. I personally quite like the nature of not having any reservations so be aware you may have to wait as this is a very popular place! However, we did not have to wait nor felt rushed at any point.
The food was fantastic! You can taste the dedication to high quality ingredients this restaurant puts in. The pizza is traditional neopolitan dough which is proved for 48-72 hours and the time pays off perfectly. I personally had a Marianna pizza as I have a dairy intolerance and I was lovely to see places offering this on the menu. A good pizza only needs good dough and sauce and NONA shows this perfectly. The drinks were also amazing, we had iced tea and lemonade both of which were homemade and it's this kind of consideration I love seeing in restaurants.
I would definitely...
Read moreOur recent visit to this pizzeria in Brussels left us with mixed feelings. The classic Margherita pizza was delightful, satisfying our expectations with its authentic flavors and perfect balance. No complaints there; it was exactly what one would anticipate from a Margherita pizza.
However, our experience took a downturn when we tried the Fresh Ricotta pizza. Despite its promising description, the pizza fell short of our expectations, especially considering its price. While the quantity of ricotta was adequate, as it could be spread on the pizza, we were disappointed by the lack of pancetta, which was hardly noticeable. It was a missed opportunity for a truly flavorful and well-rounded pizza.
To add to our disappointment, the spicy oil offered as a condiment failed to impress. It lacked the promised heat and merely felt like adding plain oil to the pizza. We were hoping for an extra kick of flavor, but unfortunately, it fell flat. The lackluster spicy oil did little to enhance our dining experience.
In conclusion, while the Margherita pizza satisfied our taste buds, the Fresh Ricotta pizza failed to live up to its description and price. Furthermore, the subpar spicy oil left us...
