Disappointing Experience at Notos

We visited Notos Restaurant in Ixelles on a Friday night, drawn by its reputation for fine dining. While the atmosphere and lighting were stunning—easily some of the best restaurant interiors I’ve ever seen—the rest of the experience fell short.

To start, the service was disappointing despite the waiter being pleasant enough. Unfortunately, he forgot our drink order, so we never received the wine we had carefully selected to accompany our meal. This oversight set the tone for the evening. Moreover, the waiter’s poor personal hygiene, with noticeable body odor, detracted from the overall dining experience.

As for the food, while the four-piece set menu was enjoyable, the €75 price tag felt exorbitant for what was served. We left feeling that the meal was overpriced and failed to deliver value for money.

Based on this experience, we will not be returning to Notos. If you’re seeking a similar dining concept but with better value, excellent service, and a more enjoyable atmosphere, I highly recommend heading to Pénar on Place George...

Food is correct and the place looks really nice, but this place is pure scam ! 12 euros for 3 bites of dessert, et 26 euros for 2 pieces of lamb and some vegetables... that’s only the first part of the joke that restaurant actually is. My parent made a reservation through « The Fork » which had 30% off as a promotion. At the end of the diner, we don’t see the 30% less so we ask the waiter where did the promotion go, the waiter tells us that the promotion is only for the first 4 people that paid through a reservation with « the Fork »... I first thought it was a joke, but it actually wasn’t. That means that only the first four people that booked through the fork will get the promotion .. (basically the Easter you book, eat and pay..) Utter and pure disgrace ! Plus, the waiter was super rude, didn’t even want to help up, almost insulted us. I’ve lived many years in Brussels, but I will never go back there and I highly recommend the person reading the comment to pass your way from that restaurant. A bunch of arrogant...

The food was just satisfactory, nothing special, maybe too greasy for my taste. The server was polite, however inexperienced. I ordered a second glass of the wine, they didn't have the same wine but they brought me filled glass with another wine, without making me try or decide. We had a small apetiser: a soup with no bread. Whenever we asked a question there were not much explanation provided. The toilet was smelly and didn't look like a toilet for a proper restaurant. When we tried to pay the bill, we got stuck with a technical issue and we couldn't pay with any of our cards. We spend 15 min to find a way how to pay the restaurant because their machine was not working. I made a joke that we reserved a little ouzo shot. The server politely asked the owner, who refused in front of our eyes and ears. Never seen so cold and impolite owner. Maybe it was a nice restaurant in the past, now it is not. Won't return...
