everything was perfect! the atmosphere is great, it looks like they "don't care with boxes and bycicles as part of the place" but just enough to look cool and vibes, which works. I arrived early around 7 just dropped by without a reservation and shannah was kind and found a spot for me, yey. I was really curious to try it! the music was a bit low imo when I arrived but I imagine it's because the place was still quiet? still, I would have love to hear nicely the great playlist it was playing - I would love the spotify link btw if it is on spotify!! the music got a bit louder as the place got busier so it might be that. the food was really yummy overall: bread and butter and orange wine all perfect way to start my dinner with, the cured sardines were good, not great, but good, simple flavours. the veal tartare...what can I say? that's what I sat on that counter for. it blew my f mind. hands down to the chef and the whole BOH team! such beautiful work. but let's talk about the stars of my dinner: shannah and the choc mousse! where to start from? shannah was always kind, attentive, clear communication about times on the table and dishes without being pushy, connected with me, which it's always sweet and one can appreciate when dining solo. I'm a fan! can only wish the best and hope she is well paid, treated kindly by her boss and peers, truly enjoys her work and has some fun while doing it! 🙌 the mousse...... well well well! it is always a huge pleasure to me when the dessert is the star of the dinner because it's not common from my experience. IT WAS DIVINE! the warm chocolate that melts in your mouth, the ice-cream below and the buckwheat crumble giving it crunch that you always knew you needed in a mousse but chefs just wouldn't give it to you, and then voilà !!!!!!! Chefs kiss!!! Truly a night we'll spent! Big...
Read moreVery unpleasant welcome, we arrived at 19:15, when the lady came to us she told that it wasn't possible to stay cause there were a lot of people waiting everywhere and in an hour they'd have finished all the food. We were aware that it was Saturday night, we wanted to try anyway even if you can't book a table, but they didn't propose us an alternative, neither made us feel welcome. Last detail, if your kitchen closes at 21h (as you write on your Instagram page) you can't say clients that at 20h you have run out food. Not professional.
Answer to the owner: We understand your réflexion and what you're trying to say, but it's not what I meant, and honestly don't understand why you write that "you saved me from disappointment". We arrived and at least 4 people of your staff saw us and nobody said anything, no 'good evening' or something else, we really felt unwelcome. After some time someone came to us and after the waitress arrived and said us that it was a lot of people waiting so there was no way to sit before an hour and at that the moment you would have run out of food. It was 19:15. I'm sorry but this was what happened, and you can't call yourself a restaurant and say that you have no food anymore at 20 pm when your kitchen closes at 21 pm. This is what I call unprofessional, sorry. We accepted that the place was full, no disappointment about that (at the beginning I haven't recognised people waiting and then the lady showed me) the disappointment was about feeling unwelcome and the attitude of your team. I understand that you don't care at the moment cause you're full but this attitude doesn't make people feel like coming again and try...
Read moreMy friends and I had looked so much forward to visiting Nightshop but unfortunately we had such a disappointing experience.
We were rushed through the entire meal. I think we were served all the five different courses within 45 minutes. We were expecting a long and pleasant evening with lots of different wine and foods. But because of the rush, we only got to finish the first bottle and then all the food had been served. Because of this, we did not have time to go out for a cigarette within the meals or just simply relax before the next course.
The waiters also forgot our orders on both food and wine. However, they were very nice and apologized, so no hard feelings - just a bit disappointing as we spent such a long time on waiting by the table...
Also, the food did not live up to our expectations at all. None of us think that six sardines on a plate should count as a course. The same goes for a basket of bread and especially for four boiled potatoes on a plate. We did not believe our eyes.
The servings were also extremely small. We were five people and made sure to order more of the same courses, but we still left the place hungry. Maybe we should have just gotten more information on how much to order? But the prices did not reflect this at all.
After all, the vibe was great and the place surely is trendy but the experience was super...
