Barbeton — Restaurant in Brussels

So one day I walked in, with a friend. And I walked in again a bit later. And again, but alone. Many visits followed, I felt home. Mostly during the day but also in late evening. I have no clue how I deserved it but they are so kind, offer any help they can. One time my glasses were pretty vague when I stepped in, I moved them down to clean them when one of the bartenders moved a nap in my hands. Or I looked for a place to sit with my laptop, when another bartender offered a place at the bar, reassuring directly my laptop was safe by putting a towel on thr bar and some wooden plates to secure laptop ventilation. And they are social! A lot of really tasty homemade stuff and freshly pressed juices. Above all: great cappuccino! So when I asked one of the people behind the bar how I deserved this kind of treatment, he happily said: "Everybody does." Now that is what I call 'amazing customer service'....

It began as a coffee and spread into eating the brunch buffet. We ate, and then some. My daughter, who is only 12 weeks, remarked on the overall quality of the spread, “It reminds me of brunches with the Czar and his homely daughters. We’d eat peacock and strawberries, crepes stuffed with rare fish from the far depths, their glowing tentacles still fluttering a glow even after they were poached.”

Of all the breakfast buffets, this one is her favourite. The staff here is top notch, they are all-knowing and their kindness is worlds above humanity’s average. The cappuccinos are rare black rubies melted into the broth of frothing diamonds. The concrete pillars are made from a million hour glasses that have sacrificed their grip on time to hold this cafe/bar aloft. Come here. Bring your czar, your mother, your lover,...

Service not friendly (from a short hair young woman) and only at the bar. They served a Compari when we asked for a Spritz and served in a rocks glass. 🤔

• • A girl was bitten by a dog (from one of the customer). She was crying and apparently no one care. 🤨 The philosophy is now moreless like : pay and don't talk to me 😅

I've been coming to this bar for 8 years as I live in Sainte Catherine... and I'm sorry to see that the happy and friendly place it used to be is no longer a reality. We ended up to Kumiko which was great and with attentive and pleasant service.

I'll give them another chance as maybe that day it was an exception but I have to admit that I'm a bit...
