The Chairman — Restaurant in Brussels

I had a large booking of 9. I would recommend this restaurant, but I would perhaps choose something a bit more adventurous then the steak I ordered. However my group really did enjoy the food, we ordered ribs (hefty portion), burgers, black cod, the hot dog and the filet steak (filet mignon). For the steak I ordered I wanted to know how the chef advised it should be done, but being an English speaker, amongst staff who had limited English I couldn't quite get this across (note to self Google Translate is a must at this restaurant just for ease of life) - nonetheless it was yummy. The chips were a bit of a let down, we did ask if they were fries cooked in beef fat (Belgium's famous frite method) and were advised so, but they were lacking in flavour. Also the portion sized varied amongst individuals. What I really loved is that there was no rushing of our table, the atmosphere and ambience was relaxed so we could enjoy our food and drinks in a relaxed manner. However due to limited staff, there were times we wanted to order drinks or our food earlier and that was hard, as staff just weren't on hand. For a restaurant that had multiple tables there were literally 2 women assigned to the whole floor. With more waiters/waitresses, there would definitely have been an improvement in the rapidity of orders. Nonetheless I would revisit this...

The service does not reflect the standards of the place at all (very fancy and elegant). The waiters were very rude, especially the man. We had a work event, among us there was also a member with a disability, the waiter arrived very arrogantly, annoyed and nervous, telling to the lady to move the wheelchair (used for walking), because the lady was disturbing the other customers. We got up, we kindly moved it because we understood what he meant (even if he used very wrong ways) and immediately after he came back with much more rude ways telling us (very annoyed) to move it also from where we had put it because it was disturbing the service. I understand that it may have been cumbersome, but this does not justify the ways of treating people. We also booked for 13 but they set the table for 15 and when we asked to order he arrogantly repeated that there were two empty seats because we weren't thirteen... then he counted us and we were 13 and he didn't even apologize for the way he pretended that we were wrong... I think we need more delicacy and kindness in our manners. For the rest, the food was very good, the restaurant very nice, but the way we were treated honestly...

We went to celebrate a birthday with a group of ten people. It took 45minutes until a waiter came to take our orders, after having asked multiple times. The food took very long to arrive and was not met with the expectations we had. It was boring and the portions were very uneven. Three slices of potato with a huge ribeye… A very tasteless and dry mac & cheese for nearly 20€ that was the size of a palm and to finish it off very rude staff. Since the portions were not well proportioned, we ordered extra fries which they forgot to bring (we had to ask for them again and got them only 30minutes after ordering). We had asked to order the “Extra fries & side salad” but the waiter said in a rude manner how the fries and salad comes separately, not together like mentioned on the menu. Did not apologise for the badly printed menu, just said to order the 2 separately for double the price. Every time we wanted to ask a waiter for something, they came with a sigh, rolled their eyes and were very rude, not helpful at all. None of us would ever return here.
