't Galgenhuis Groentemarkt 5 — Restaurant in Ghent

After 5 years living in Europe and having visited 10 countries this is the worst customer service that I have experienced by far.

The staff was extremely rude and pushy to order as fast as possible because "every table is money". It is self evident that they do not care about the service or people, but about how much money they can get from you.

They claim themselves to be the smallest pub in Ghent. That might be true, smallest mindset, lower customer service and even a tiny beer selection from the tap. Supposedly the tiniest pub in Ghent, with a lovely terrace. Try to sit on the tiny first floor if you can, it's an experience in itself. If that spot is occupied and the weather allows it, you're also good on the terrace outside. Service is friendly and speedy and the personel will gladly help you with advice on which beer to pick. Sadly the selection of beer is limited, which isn't really surprising considering the bar barely has room for one person to stand behind :p Definitely worth a visit just to check out this old, history filled building. Nice location for a drink. They don’t serve any food though. So if you want to grab a lunch or snack, you are out of luck.

And the service was pretty subpar. I asked if I could sit upstairs and the server told me no unapologetically. On a nice day you get very interesting view on the little plaza in front of the pub. Good for people watching. It was too early for a beer for me. So I couldn’t comment on their beer collections. People who were drinking...
