The quality of the wines served here make me feel good. It shows how much expertise there is behind this cute wine bar near the Gravensteen, Ghent's historic center. E.g., the sweet wine I had was quite balanced with plenty of acidity. I had a 2021 Moscato d'Asti, which is very young, but the advantages here are that it's also refreshing and light, which is what I need in a sweet wine. It did miss a bit of a surprise element for me. A MdA is seldomly extraordinary in my (current) experience, sadly it wasn't proven otherwise. A really good sweet wine is hard to make, and even harder to find. Still enjoyed the wine a lot, though (hence the 4*).
For me, the expertise that was shown in the choice of wines didn't truly come forward in the server, who seemed to be very charming and definitely loves his job (which is really important for a nice atmosphere), but he didn't seem to be up-to-date about the products he was serving. A bit of extra product knowledge would crank that up!

Read more(this review is about the B&B upstairs) this B&B is genuinely one of the most beautifully aesthetic places I have ever stayed. The interior design is very pretty. The beds are very comfortable, everything was clean, the WiFi is very fast etc. Everything is exactly what you want it to be. There is complementary coffee, tea and water in the rooms. We even had some chocolate in our room! The shower is very big and the shampoo provided smelled amazing. They even had bathrobes (made with towel fabric), meaning I did not have to struggle with a halfway decently semi big towel. There were towels a-plenty in addition to the robes. It is incredibly near the city centre and literally next door to the castle. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast...
