Voisin — Restaurant in Ixelles - Elsene

We waited over 15 min to first receive the menus. Then another 20 minutes before they came to take our order. The problem was... It wasn't even busy, there were only four other people there...! My partner ended up going home after 35 minutes to put our daughter to sleep. He would have wanted his beer but had to wait too long. Also there are NO HIGH CHAIRS for babies here... Not child friendly...

Our food arrived an hour and half after we first sat down. I haven't waited this long at a restaurant in a very long time... The food was bland and lacked taste. Most of the clams in my pasta were closed when my plate arrived. My friend ordered hummus, the chickpeas were the only ingredient, tahini was absent. Toilet was full of flies and not very clean. Heard much good about this place but will not be going back at all. Very disappointing. I give two stars because there was sun on the terrace, and I enjoyed eating outside. I wasn’t allowed to enter a restaurant 4 min before it’s opening (which is quite unusual, but ok). The staff also told me they will not take my order within 15 min (after opening time).

Pasta with asperges was plane, cheese platter was just a joke. 3 types of let’s say Gouda (or whatever it was) cheese sliced thinly and mixed together. Honestly I couldn’t believe it was 21 euro because it lacked variety (basically same cheese plain, with pepper in it and something else) and looked just like normal cheese at buffet in a hotel.

I ate here recently. I really can't understand how anyone is criticizing the food its delicious. I had the standard plancha with cheese and ham slices. IT WAS DELICIOUS. The cocktails are unique and made with effort. Great, friendly service. The staff make a real effort and take pride in what they do. See you soon. 4 stars on food as its value, tasty and as expected. They are not trying to offer a michelin experience, its honest and fine as is. Maybe a little lacking in atmosphere however great place to meet friends,...
