Tams House — Restaurant in Plovdiv

We heard great things about this Restaurant. It was the reason we went to that part of town that day, right after arriving in Plovdiv. Even though the restsurant wasn’t full yet, we were told it was fully booked for the moment. I asked if there was any option for later on or so, and that we were realy keen to discover their cuisine. He told us to return 30-45 minutes later maybe a table will be released. Than another person, maybe the manager, came to us and (re)started telling us how fully booked they are and that we need to make reservation. I asked to make a reservation and he told me that in one hour they close… 😳🤪😱🤦🏼‍♀️ He told me also to make reservation for tuesday (it was sunday) if we want, but if we are 5 persons (2 adults and 3 children) he doesn’t think that we have a chance to find places… A bit of a surreal customer service talk and manner to manage things. At all times their stand-up tables were empty and remained empty for the evening, while they didn’t think not even to ask us if we were interested. More than 2 hours later (when we passed by returning from a lovely comfortable and welcoming restaurant from nearby) they were still open and having customers. A posh place it seems and maybe we didn’t fit their customer image profile. No firm as well to find them easily on the street. This restaurant for me is one of the best three in town! Fantastic food, lovely service and cosy atmosphere! We love it and will come back soon with more friends. 😍 The salads were terrific, the one was french style, the other with gorgeous backed vegetables. The main dishes were splendid too! We ate the tagliatelle with parmesan sauce, prosciutto and egg, the combination was simply delightful (maybe the pasta was a tiny bit softer than I would have liked). The second one was the vegan option - falafel in a great combination with some vegetables. The desert called "The Egg" had a really interesting presentation - the egg white was made of white chocolate and some delicious white cream, the yolk was mango mouse, delightful! The other two were brilliant as well! I would recommend the restaurant to anyone who wants to taste different food and of highest quality! We talked to the owner as well who also made sure we had a great time. Thank you for the fantastic experience...

We reserved a table with greatest expectation for unique date experience, based on so much articles speaking good about the food here. Unfortunately, did not happen for us. We should read the simple sign that other restaurants around were full and this one was not. Service was really bad due to our luck that a very new girl was assigned to serve us. A much better and professional guy came few times and he was excellent and tried really well to help.

Other disappointment was one item from the menu - I ordered the grilled octopus which I am sure would have been excellent, if all ingredients were cooked fresh. My feeling was that beets and the cauliflower were precooked on other day. Result - serious stomach issues during the night and all food vomited. My friend had a pork chop and his food was good.
