Lantern Rooftop Bar — Restaurant in Khan Boeng Keng Kang

If you look at my history, I rarely give a 1 ⭐️ review, it has to be really bad to get this rating.

First time we came to this restaurant which is inside the hotel, 6th floor rooftop.

We ordered the drinks, espresso martini and another cocktail, no problems. Nice presentation, decent ingredients.

However it only got worse after that. The appetizer was the garlic and cheese French fries. Fries didn’t have much flavor, seasoning was very little, and only a small amount of ingredients, just French fries with some green onions.

The main course was the ribeye steak 🥩 $33 for 300 grams. The piece was not cooked evenly and it also didn’t have enough seasoning. Hardly any flavor. So we asked for some salt and pepper.

This is when it got really bad. When we sprinkled on the pepper, we realized that some of the pepper started moving! What?!? Moving pepper?? The black pepper had bugs 🪳 in it!! So we asked for some new pepper and guess what?? The second bottle of pepper ALSO had bugs 🐞 in it! We were astonished!

What did the staff do? Say sorry? No. Give us a discount on the meal? Of course not. All they did was give us a small bowl of ground pepper. No emotional intelligence or customer service. No manager, no apology and nothing to show they felt bad.

So, I recommend, avoid this place at all costs. Save your time and money. Go somewhere else. If you check my background, it takes a lot for me to give such a low review. I typically give places the benefit of the doubt. But not today.
