We were robbed here by a group of men staying at the hotel. They took all the cash from a bag stored under the chair of my friend. We were in a quiet part of the restaurant and there was only one group of men who hung around behind us. The staff were beyond unhelpful, and acted in a way which made us think they were separatly trying to scam us as well.

Just to provide a bit of background I'll describe what happened.

My girlfriend speaks Urdu and told the waiter our order, despite there being no language barrier two extra curries were still brought out, we told the waiter we did not order them and he understood us and took one of them back and told us to keep the other even though we didn't want it. We also had to wait an hour for the food to arrive.

I had not finished eating and the waiter brought four separate bills for us. The bills still contained the food we had not ordered along with other errors. We were charged for four waters that we did not order and did not drink. I got the feeling we were billed separately to misdirect us.

When the bills were brought out that was when we noticed the cash had been taken from my friends bag, obviously we were shaken and told the waiter and asked was there CCTV. He did not care at all and did not offer any help or even any words of surprise.

The men who were hanging around the back of our table came from the back area where the hotel is and my girlfriend asked the waiter if he knew them and he would not tell her. It was obvious they were known to the hotel because they were speaking to the staff and my girlfriend understood what they were saying.

To top it all off we were overcharged and didn't notice because we were distracted by the theft. We asked the waiter about being overcharge and he handed us back 50000 rial without saying anything.

Obviously there are things we could have done differently to have avoided this, but the number one thing I would recommend other people to do is to not come to this restaurant, an absolutely unbelievably abhorrent place.
