I decided to take a break at this café because their sign clearly said “Free Wi-Fi.” I ordered a drink and started working on my laptop. But halfway through, the Wi-Fi was suddenly cut off. Confused, I asked a staff member, and they said it was because there were too many people. After waiting a few minutes, the connection came back, so I continued sipping my tea and working quietly.
Then, just a few minutes later, the male manager standing near the register suddenly stormed over and yelled at me in front of everyone: “Don’t use our Wi-Fi. If you’re going to use it, then leave!”
I was completely stunned by how abrupt and unreasonable he was.
It was the weekend, and after walking through the crowded pedestrian street, all I wanted was to sit down, have some tea, and do a little light work. It’s not like I was downloading anything heavy or abusing the connection. Nowhere in the café did it say laptops were not allowed. And yet they not only cut my connection without warning but also humiliated me in front of other customers by shouting at me to leave.
It was truly upsetting and shocking. I’ve never been treated so badly in a café before. I will never come back here again.
I strongly recommend that everyone stay away from this place — and in particular, watch out for the male manager at...
Read moreSpent several days, two different times in October in PP staying at the Cambodiana Hotel, where I ate my breakfast and walked down the river to the riverside area and found the Romduol Restaurant. After eating a delicious lunch there, I discovered that their chef, Socheat, has trained twenty seven other chefs. I come from a family of chefs, so I am familiar with great food and proper preparation and it gives me great pleasure to say that I continued to take my lunches and dinners at the Romduol Khmer. It is extraordinary. I sampled the menu, trying all three of the styles of offerings. The Thai tasted authentic. The western was surprisingly exceptional and the Khmer was fantastic. I've been to Cambodia several times and had food from many restaurants and hotels and to say that I was very pleased would be understating the quality of this food. Congratulations Master...
Read moreI was on the Riverside and saw the restaurant was selling beer outside during the weekend road closure , my partner asked a female member of staff if it was ok to sit outside and drink beer without ordering any food she said yes so we ordered two beers . The beer was a bit frothy and the head came below the handle of the glass I politely asked if she could top it up a little which she kindly did. To our amazement the male manager appeared and went into a rant and told us to leave . I have been coming to Cambodia for many years and have only ever been received with respect, politeness and smiles. This man is a disgrace and even nasty and evil , I genuinely fear for his staff if he speaks and treats customers like that. I urge you to stay away and leave him to willow in his own self pity. You have...
