I was fortunate enough to be raised in Banff, with that being said I was able to experience Evelyn’s Coffee Bar throughout various stages of my life. Even after having moved away and coming back to visit for the holidays, I would always look forward to grabbing a coffee or a homemade pastry. My particular favorites are the cranberry cheesecake and their wonderfully thick oatmeal cranberry cookie which are to die for! (They’re also their most popular cookie, I even remember eating them during my childhood, haha!) They also make amazing sandwiches in the morning and are available throughout the day such as their roast chicken sandwich with red grapes. To accompany the sandwiches especially on a chilly winter day, I enjoy a bowl of their daily homemade soups.
Also if you’re organizing an event or work meeting with your colleagues, they offer catering services. Ask the service staff about the options that they offer. Everybody will be thanking you later. ;)
What makes this coffee shop so great is their prime location, the coffee merchandise that they sell like the different roasts you can buy by the pound. Evelyn’s has an amazing Swiss Water Decaffeinated Dark Roast which is quite heavenly and helps with the late night coffee cravings. Haha.
They’re located in the true heart of downtown Banff, if you’re on your own or with a friend you can sit by the window and people watch as tourists wander the town. They also have a great selection of seats in the cafe where one can catch up easily on chapter or two of the book that you’re reading or messages while you’re on vacation. What’s really nice too is that they’re open fairly late but please make sure to check their hours since it might change a little after posting this review.
If you’re unable to come back to Banff for another visit. Fret not! You’ll still be able to experience the love and warmth of Evelyn’s Coffee from the comfort of your own home and bring the magic of Banff...
Read moreEvelyn’s Coffee Bar is hands down the best coffee shop I’ve ever been to. Nestled in the heart of Banff, this spot offers not only some of the finest coffee in the region but also a view that’s simply unbeatable. Imagine sipping on a perfectly brewed latte while gazing at the majestic Rocky Mountains in the backdrop—it’s an experience that stays with you long after you’ve left.
From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a cozy, warm ambiance and the rich aroma of freshly ground beans. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making sure every cup is just right. I went with their signature flat white, and it was absolutely smooth, creamy, and flavorful. You can tell they take pride in their craft.
Their selection of pastries and baked goods is just as impressive—fresh, delicious, and perfect for a mid-morning treat. I highly recommend trying one of their freshly baked croissants. They’re flaky, buttery, and pair perfectly with any drink on their menu.
What really sets Evelyn’s apart, though, is the location. The outdoor seating area offers a front-row seat to the stunning mountain views that Banff is famous for. Whether you're visiting in the summer with lush greenery or in the winter with snow-covered peaks, the scenery adds a magical touch to your coffee experience.
For anyone visiting Banff, Evelyn’s Coffee Bar is an absolute must. It’s not just a coffee stop—it’s a destination where great coffee, friendly vibes, and breathtaking views come together perfectly. Can't wait to come back next time...
Read moreIt’s a vibe that all can get down with. Part hipster, part modern, Evelyn coffee bar has outstanding coffee. So much so we came back twice. We got two medium vanilla lattes and of course they did the little design in it! Be prepared to pay for the atmosphere and outstanding coffee.
Honestly the best part about this place was the croissants. We ordered two. She got the chocolate one (more like a desert but it had our taste buds poppin) the chocolate was creamy and smooth without it even being heated up. It was like a paste of chocolate smothered inside a crispy crust that was baked to perfection.
Just when you think it can’t get any better, if you want to go nuts like me, order the almond croissant. Perfect ratio of thinly sliced almonds across the top, with that gooey paste within. There was not too much, just enough to have you wanting more.
The couches are comfy and casual (love the brown leather vibe) but you can also step outside for the view of my favorite mountain in Banff.
As always for the bathrooms: I can’t hold it against them because their bathrooms are through the rear exit in the communal mall. I had to go out and go downstairs so they’re quite a bit away away so don’t drink too much coffee and fear of tingling your pants on the journey. For all my loyal review followers I did make that journey, but the cage was locked at seven in the morning. However, they did have a sign pointing me to a secondary location, but I figured that won’t always be the case so we’re leaving the bathroom review...
