Indian Curry House - Banff - A Culinary Gem On our recent visit to Banff, we had the pleasure of dining at a Indian Curry House - Banff, a charming Indian restaurant nestled in the heart of this beautiful mountain town. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and the tantalizing aromas of authentic Indian spices wafting through the air. Our dining experience here was nothing short of spectacular, making it a must-visit spot for anyone in Banff. ### Food Quality: A Flavorful Journey The food quality at Indian Curry House - Banff is simply amazing. We started our meal with a plate of Dosa, a South Indian delicacy that was perfectly crisp on the outside and deliciously soft on the inside. The accompanying sambar and coconut chutney were fresh and bursting with flavors, setting the tone for the culinary delights to follow. Next, we indulged in a variety of vegetarian curries. Each dish was a masterpiece, showcasing the rich and diverse palette of Indian cuisine. The Mutter Paneer, Dal tadka stood out with its creamy texture and balanced spices, fragrant basmati rice. A special mention goes to the Gol Gappa (also known as Pani Puri). These crispy, hollow puris filled with tangy tamarind water and a mix of potatoes and chickpeas were an explosion of flavors with every bite. It's rare to find such authentic street food quality in a restaurant setting, and Indian Curry House - Banff delivered it flawlessly. ### Beverages: Perfect Accompaniment While the food was the highlight, the beverages did not disappoint either. We enjoyed their coffee, which was surprisingly good for an Indian restaurant, offering a rich and smooth flavor that was a perfect end to our meal. It was evident that they pay attention to every detail, ensuring that every part of the dining experience is exceptional. ### Ambience: Warm and Inviting The ambience at Indian Curry House - Banff is cozy and inviting. The decor is a tasteful blend of traditional Indian elements and modern touches, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Whether you are dining with family, friends, or even solo, the restaurant offers a welcoming space to enjoy a meal. ### Service: Exceptional Hospitality The staff at Indian Curry House - Banff were exceptionally polite and attentive, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Special thanks to Fatesh Bhai, whose warm hospitality and friendly demeanor truly enhanced our dining experience. He went out of his way to ensure that we had everything we needed and were enjoying our meal to the fullest. ### Conclusion: A Must-Visit in Banff Indian Curry House - Banff is undeniably one of the best places to check out when youโre in Banff. My 1st time to Banff national Park and the 1 st day in Banff downtown, I finished the day late after a whole day exciting activities. It was a little bit late around 21h00. I was looking for a restaurant in the town. Most of the restaurants in the Banff downtown closes around 21hh in the winter season. Finally I discovered the nice Indian restaurant on the second floor which closes at 22h30. The owner was very friendly and gave me a warm welcome:-). I ordered the curry fish mixed with coconut milk , butter chicken and garlic naan for two persons. I have tried the Indian cuisine for a couple times but this time, I was really impressed by theirs food, especially the home made garlic naan. All the food was very delicious, my favorite is the garlic naan. It smells very good and taste ever better. The owner recommended to eat the naan first when it's hot. It was so so tasty and authentic. I will say that garlic naan is the best naan I ever have had ๐๐๐๐. I also ordered the mango lassi which is very fresh and smooth tasty. All of them are authentic traditional Indian cuisine. I discussed with owner that the restaurant has been in service for 18 years . The owner also introduced me the Indian traditional food differences between the South part and North part. I enjoyed the delicious food and meantime I learned some extra . It was really a very nice experience in Banff downtown. I give definitely five stars and highly recommend this restaurant to try . I will come back to them definitely for the next time. Hopping to see you soon !!! ๐

We came here for dinner after a long day and the food was pretty good. Wait time wasn't long for food, and we got seated quickly too. We ordered chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala, dal makhni, and garlic naan. And as a warning, they don't play with spice here lol. Our chicken biryani and chicken tikka masala had medium spice and they were pretty spicy. We asked for dal makhni to be mild, but I think the cooks forgot because it was pretty spicy for it to be mild. Luckily they supplied us with yogurt. I don't know what type of yogurt or brand they specifically use, but after pairing it with our entrees it tasted amazing. After eating with it, it got me thinking what is it and where can I get it for myself. For me, the chicken tikka masala was okay. It wasn't bad at all, but I like my chicken tikka masala more creamier. It was good, but just not what I was expecting or hoped to taste. However what impressed me was the dal makhni. It was so delicious, I looked forward to saving it for leftovers and eating it later. One thing I didn't like was that rice was extra. Maybe I've just been lucky to eat at indian food restaurants that always have rice included, but I was a little bummed that rice wasn't part of the overall experience. Overall there were some things about my experience that I didn't like, but nonetheless the food was good and the service was great as well.

Located in the heart of downtown Banff, beautiful backdrop of the mountains nearby, very walkable and accessible (not street level; must go up a flight of stairs). Lots of street parking, if coming by car; during the time of my visit, paid street parking was 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and free after that time. Still plenty of time to enjoy an evening meal and light stroll with the cooler weather. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted and immediately seated, although, some of the chairs are very, very worn and could be replaced, the atmosphere for dinner was like any other restaurant, calm and quiet. Our waiter took our food and drinks order minutes after seating us, and everything came out the kitchen not long after, which was great because we were all pretty hungry from the long day exploring the area. The food was mouthwatering and delicious, and the portion sizes were full to the rim! I had a mango lassi and enjoyed it with my meal as well. Very tasty. We paid approximately $15 - $20 CAD per person, so the normal price of a dinner meal anywhere in the world. If ever in the area, I'd return to Curry House and will for sure recommend! You won't be disappointed.

I recently visited the Curry House near Banff and had an absolutely delightful experience. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the Chicken Tikka Masala, which was bursting with rich flavors and tender chicken pieces. The sauce had the perfect balance of spices, creating a harmonious blend that left me craving more. The Garlic Naan was another standout dish. It was freshly made, soft, and had just the right amount of garlic, enhancing its taste without overpowering it. The naan paired wonderfully with the chicken tikka masala, adding a delightful texture to each bite. Apart from the food, I was impressed by the ambiance of the restaurant. The cozy atmosphere, coupled with attentive service, made my dining experience even more enjoyable. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, offering recommendations and ensuring that everything was to my satisfaction. Overall, I highly recommend the Curry House near Banff to anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine. Whether youโre a fan of flavorful curries or delectable naan bread, this place is sure to exceed your expectations. I canโt wait to return and try more of their mouthwatering dishes!

The restaurant is located on the upper floor. One portion of the restaurant is overlooking Banff Ave while the rest of the tables are located far inside. The food options are fairly typical and they are reasonably priced. The restaurant is open later than most other food places on this strip. Our experience was good at the beginning, we were seating in a nice table overlooking the street. The server was friendly and responsive. Shortly after, the restaurant started to become more crowded and there were people waiting outside. This is when everything turned sideways. Staff were rushing us and asking if we need anything else (there were still half full plate on our table). They even had a guest wait by our table while we were still eating, "in preparation to be seated". The guest realized they were rushing us and started apologizing... It was a big mess! Although the food was okay and the service seemed to be good at first, I would not recommend going there unless it is late in the evening and there are no other restaurants open.
