We were visiting Banff national park with my family. My kids were interested in trying out the new drink (pineapple lemonade) if I am right ;).We ordered the drink and after waiting for 30 minutes, our drink finally arrived. My daughter tried it and seeing the expressions on her face , I tried it too.The drink tasted bitter and nasty. After a while of debating whether or not to go back to the store and ask them to replace it, we as a family decided to go and tell them that we did not like it.We went back and asked one of the guys there. He said he has to talk to him supervisor. The supervisor came after 15 minutes and told us that we tried the drink and she couldn’t give us a replacement for it.We were surprised at her attitude. We are from the US and in the US if for any reason we don’t like the drink/food people are more than happy to exchange it or replace it.The store manager knew that we are visiting and she would never ever see us. She decided that she doesn’t have to help us with anything. This was a terrible thing for us.$6:79 does not mean a thing to me.It’s the human approach that counts. I am fine but I feel bad as a mother to see my kids have to deal with something like this. Please treat everyone the way you want to be treated.I hope it will help others too if they ever need to change their minds....
Read morePhenomenal service. "Well oiled machine." Were they swamped? Yes. They had to have felt absolutely overwhelmed and exhausted. It was an incredibly busy blazing hot Saturday summer afternoon. The store was packed. Every seat taken, 15 people in line and more coming through the door. The efficiency however with which this team was handling things was out of this world. Like a well oiled machine, one of those close up shots of a fast moving submarine engine going full speed as it's racing forward in battle, they never missed a step, never so much as bumping into each other, everyone working as a team. Two young women moving so fast I could barely keep track of which order they were working on, and a young man would quickly duck in behind them at the exact right moment with empty glasses or bags from emptying bins. In seemingly seconds the line was gone and the store was spotless again, and more people were coming through the door. All the while the smiles never left the faces of these charming people nor those others behind the counter. I had a chance to say thank you to the woman who took our order and she was as welcoming and pleasant as the rest. Truly fantastic service from this group that obviously enjoys working together. Thank you for making the end of a long day...
Read moreGlad to find a Starbucks in Banff. It is in a excellent location. The storefront has a nice setting that fits in with the rest of the buildings. Minus two stars for the service. My bother ordered a brewed coffee and was asked to wait until another pot was made. He was left standing there for a long time while the barista eventually started serving that new pot of coffee to other people in line and completely forgot about him. Additionally one employee was blocking the condiment counter (sugar, cream, etc) while talking to another customer at the counter and didn't bother to allow me access even though I was blatantly standing there waiting for them to finish. Even after I asked to have access to the counter, he moved over enough for me to get some countertop space but he still took up an inappropriate amount room at the counter while he continued his conversation. I have no problem watching a Starbucks employee being friendly and chatting up the customers, but it is possible to have a conversation while standing in a position that does not block access to...
