So much like the review from 2 days ago I had pretty much the same experience. I was actually looking forward to coming here. I have been here before and it was Great befor3. Not sure what's happened since then.
I wanted to order the tikka tacos and lamb sliders. We all placed our orders but they came back 10 min later to tell me that they were out of lamb sliders 10 min after we ordered our food. I fast 20 hrs a day and was looking forward to both items unfortunately I had to just settle for 3 small tacos. I just not sure how a restaurant such as firangi would be out of lamb silders on a Wednesday around 6pm. As the other reviews mentioned the place was empty. Their answer to this was to order lamb chops. Lamb chops are 30.99 and sliders are 17.99. Why would I do that. Should offer it to me for same price. Then she said get the seekh kabaab. So i said why don't you take the seekh lamb kabaab meat and make the sliders from that but chef said no they won't do that. Fine ! But I should mention the chicken tikka tacos were good. I'm 6ft 210 lbs 3 tacos not really much for me and really I wasn't interested in anything else on their menu because the tacos and the sliders is what i came for. We ordered some other dishes too which were bindi and my mother said was uncooked. I believe her because she is an amazing indian cook and not justing saying this because she is my mother. My mother-in-law didn't like the Chana neither and couldn't finish it.
Ok that was just the food. Now to the service. Wow for a place being empty I'm not sure how you can keep forgetting things. Gave us water but after that nothing until we asked for a bottle of water which every other table had to refill their water with. Then obviously the fact of coming 10 min later to tell us a items weren't available just delaying our other food items the place is empty it was us and only 2 other tables. My wife's tacos came first then mine then there was a 10 min wait for the veggie items. We are all ordering individual items I should mention and we aren't ordering food to share. We have both vegetarians and carnivores in our party. Just anything we had to ask for it took multiple attempts. Lol and just like the previous review they offered us free pani puri for a review. I think they should of just not asked. But anyhow they asked us for the pani puri and I said yes. Tik tok tik tok waiting waiting no pani puri. Finally comes then says do we want pani puri again. I'm sure i thought i already said yes. Then she said she will make it and I had to come there to a station. I wish she mentioned this to begin with. Any how we finally got some pani puri which were also underwhelming. Finally ordered gulab jamun and boy not sure if they make and fry them there but it took while and multiple asks. My son wanted them and I had to look at his frustrating angry face for a while because it was taking so long.
Look finally this place did at once apon a time have some really good food. Now it's a hit and miss. And for place like this to say they ran out of item so early on Wednesday is pretty bad for a place that charges a pretty penny for their dishes.
Lastly the owner was there. Not sure how he walks around and turns a blind eye to all this. Also when a restaurant can't commit to their a menu there should be a apology followed by something to make it right. Not just stare at me and say no we don't have it.
Update: The girls that work there are super nice and friendly just not trained well and it's no falt of their own as i completely blame management, and poor oversight of...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at FIRANGI restaurant, and I feel compelled to share my extremely disappointing and disturbing experience. I hope my review serves as a cautionary tale to anyone thinking about dining here.
To begin with, my dining companions and I ordered Manchurian Gobi and Garlic Momos as our starters. The Manchurian Gobi was the only saving grace in the entire meal, as it was surprisingly enjoyable. Momos had a strange and after putting taste that left us wondering about the ingredients freshness.
Our misery continued with the main course. We ordered a selection of dishes, including raita, dal bukhara, paneer shahi lababdar, butter chicken, and chicken tikka masala. It was apparent that the kitchen staff had never heard of the concept of proper cooking. The meats in our dishes were tough and undercooked, rendering them inedible. The paneer in the shahi lababdar was far from fresh, and the yogurt used in the raita had a peculiar and unpleasant aftertaste that tainted the entire dish. The dal bukhara was served cold and was so thick that it clung to our spoons like glue. It was impossible to consume.
To add insult to injury, we ordered dhaba chicken curry, only to be told after a 25-minute wait that it was unavailable. Instead, they offered us what they claimed was chicken tikka masala. However, it resembled a starter more than a main course, as it contained barely any curry. When we requested that they rectify this, it seemed as though they had simply poured butter chicken gravy or tomato sauce into the dish, resulting in a flavorless and disjointed mess that bore no resemblance to a proper curry.
The abysmal quality of the food was only matched by the abhorrent service we received. The manager, who should have been responsible for addressing our concerns, was conspicuously absent. Instead, a different individual who appeared to be in charge of the servers approached us. He greeted our complaints with a smug smile and refused to accept any criticism or feedback. There was a shocking lack of empathy, concern, or even a simple apology for the dismal experience we were enduring.
As if the culinary catastrophe wasn't enough, all four of us experienced discomfort and unusual sensations in our stomachs after consuming this subpar fare. We could barely manage to eat a few spoonfuls before resigning ourselves to the fact that we had made a grave mistake by dining at FIRANGI. I wouldn’t give this restaurant a single star but Google doesn’t have an option of half star..
In conclusion, I implore you to think long and hard before considering FIRANGI restaurant for your dining needs. The food we were served was not only inedible but seemed like leftovers from the day as we got our tables only around 9:50pm and restaurant closes at 10pm. The complete lack of professionalism and customer care from the staff was a final blow to an already disastrous dining experience. This restaurant has left an indelible mark on my memory, and I sincerely hope that my review helps others avoid the...
Read moreJust dined here for valentines day with my family and I can confidently say that this place is horrendous. Before I get into the service, I called TWO days prior to reserve a table and they told me that the only slot they have available is for 9pm, which is pretty late but hey we wanted to give it another shot and I guess it's last minute for valentines day so sure understandable. So we get there at 8 58pm, I go up to the front to check in and im told that we're going to have to wait 10 mins. Now here's the thing, if it's gonna be 10mins or 30mins, as long as you tell me the truth I'm good to wait and be cooperative, but after being told 10 mins multiple times we ended up waiting 45MINS for a RESERVATION. RIDICULOUS!!! First of all they had ONE order taker, plenty of servers, but only ONE person making rounds to take orders down, probably the most inefficient system I've ever seen in my entire life. It took 20mins to get a drink order in, which, surprise surprise, was wrong, waited another 15mins to order one table appetizer which was very good, however we waited about 20mins and the portion wasn't fitting with the price point. We finish the apps and now we're waiting ANOTHER HOUR JUST TO ORDER THE MAIN COURSE. As if anything else could go wrong, ta da, the food is cold. The Naan was cold and tough, I mean it was like trying to rip a rubber ball, the Naan had more tension than a BLM protest. The sabzis and chicken dishes were all cold and the chicken was especially dry. So as any rational person based on this nightmare experience, you'd figure that you're not gonna tip. Well guess what, you don't have to, CUZ THEY ADD A NICE 15% TIP FOR YOU. I mean come on, I understand gratuity if it's a table to 6-8+ but FOUR PEOPLE? WE SPENT CLOSE TO ALMOST 2.5 HOURS there, and we would've left if it was any earlier but the goddamn reservation was already as late as 9pm. Please please please don't take this review with a grain of salt, I've been here many times and there's been bad experiences like the prolonged wait times but today was the limit. I'm really disappointed in this place but more in myself to keep giving this place a shot. If you have any self respect and respect for your time and money, go anywhere else, hell make it at home, it'll cost less outta your wallet and definitely...
