THEY MAKE THEIR FOOD ONCE EVERY 2 WEEKS. LENA IS BUSY SERVING DAYS OLD NASTY FOOD!!!! Located at 100 Maritime Ontario Blvd . NASTY AND DISGUSTING FOOD!!!

Maybe about 4 Years ago I ate at Lena's for the first time. I had ordered curried shrimp. When I started to eat it the curry was bitter and thick like mud. I brought it to the attention of the server. She went for a spoon, came and tasted it and said it was fine. I tossed it in the gargabe and left meaning to write a review but never got around to it.

Yesterday my friend bought 4 shrimp roti from there ...the paratha tasted fine but the shrimp was the nastiest tasting thing,!!! The curry was black and bitter...the potato pieces looked like they were shaved from the bottom of a pot that was at least 9 day old. Bits and pieces of crumbly potatoes in what look like some Beebop and Rocksteady sewer sauce. It had no flavour except the taste of something old and burnt. I strongly believe that they cook their food once a week or every two weeks. They have absolutely no shame serving that unhygienic and disgusting food to the public. Many West Indians do not eat overnight food at their own home much less to pay $70 to eat it at your business! Fresh and feisty! Public health should be visiting this business!! There is no way that you can consistently serve your customers such nastiness and get away with it!!! IF I COULD GIVE THIS BUSINESS ZERO STARTS I WOULD!!!

Update in response to Owner: Yes this is correct restaurant Yes she got a spoon and tasted the food that I had tasted and complained about. Never in my life had I ever had that experience. It was a young woman I asked for your name and left you messages that you never returned. I dont care how many stickers you want to post on that door. Stop selling many days old food to your customers...you are not slick...this practise is nasty and disrespectful....if I went there and ordered right now, you would still serve that pot of mud from yesterday. It takes a lot for me to write such a scathing review but you have way past your boundaries now.....this...

I hate to do this, especially to a place that has great customer service. But to get a roti with so little chicken is an insult to a long time customer. When asking them the next day to make it right also went wrong, I knew it would be my last time visiting them. I can understand covid has made times tough for restaurants, but it has also made it tough for customers as well. Thank you for your service in the past, especially Chris. Your response comes across rude, and more importantly doesn’t contain many facts.

1. The price I paid was $6.75, not $5. Maybe a small difference to you, but significant to me.

2. Nothing about the amount of chicken was explained to me at the time of ordering. Not once, let alone “several” times.

3. If the roti is intended for children, it should be mentioned. A Happy Meal is clearly for children, and also clearly mentions what it contains, deeming your McDonald’s argument irrelevant. I don’t understand why you would even say this.

4. I did not ask for anything free or a “freebie”. I came to speak with initially Chris who took my order and explain why I was unhappy. He seemed like a reasonable person and I was hoping to have a civil and decent engagement with him. Something this response to me is incapable of.

So, went to lenas and ordered some chicken curry and rice and goat curry and a paranta.... and this is what I got and I had some food that I ordered to go but after eating this I left all the food on the table and left, myself!!! The person I placed my order with came running out to tell me I had forgot my to go order on the table and I told her I didn’t forget it, I jus don’t want it!!! She was puzzled! I told her that I won’t be coming back and if they think that is exceptable food then they won’t have the same business as the original owners... she then told me that, get this, the original owner is still making the food and he sends it to them to sell... so this all begs the question why even eat here.... so sad it was a good place to eat! I spent $45 on rubbish and the woman was so shocked that the food wasn’t right and she told me she would talk to the guy (original owner) about the food but at no time did she say anything about the fact that I ate almost nothing and was even leaving my to go order and should get my money back... but what do I know I’m jus a silly Coustomer!!! I know the rent there isn’t cheap but if this is the kind of food u sell u should shut down shop... insult to injury I was told by a close friend that I know also frequents there about it and he told me they have been having problems with health services Ontario as well.... makes sense!!!! So sorry for me...
