This used to be one of my dad's favourites in Calgary. It has clearly gone downhill since a few years ago after my family's last experience today.

My dad ordered his usual seafood soup (he just came back to Calgary after years away). It included a ton of noodles, and a few pieces of seafood and veggies with the broth being pretty mediocre. $13.

I ordered a spicy chicken stir-fry 'dish' with a side order of steamed rice. The 'dish' was a few bits of chicken with some spicy sauce. No side veggies, no rice included, not even a single piece of garnish or any effort whatsoever to actually make it look like a complete dish like you would expect at any respectable restaurant. $17 for the 'dish' + $2 for the steamed rice. I ended up asking to have it traded out for something more like my dad's, which was at least a complete and edible dish, and not just a side order of rice and spicy chicken.

When the bill came, they wanted to charge the $17 + $2 for the food I asked them to take back instead of the $13 soup I ended up actually eating. The waitress simply said that she couldn't trade my dish out for a cheaper alternative without charging me the price of the original. Right.

Boss comes and corrects the bill for us. Him and the waitress chuckle with each other while we use the terminal to pay for our meal...... probably because we seem crazy to them for wanting to be served decent food and treated fairly or something. When the employee and the boss find some sort of humor in pissed off customers, then you know that the business is probably doomed.

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because they at least had the decency to correct the bill when we complained. Definitely do not recommend and won't be...

Enjoyed this restaurant in the past but the service was terrible taking over ten minutes to finally take our order when we had to ask twice for someone to come serve us. The waiter did not seem to want to take our order and had the worst attitude towards serving women, which I could only assume it was because I'm Asian and didn't deserve his respect. He didn't even write down our order and forgot one of the four items. He couldn't be bothered to care, and it was even more insulting to hear him serving the table of Caucasian men behind us with such polite manners versus complete disregard for us. When I asked if the bubble tea was made of real avocado, his reply was strawberry as well as all the flavours, which made no sense and I had a near argument with him in asking him for a straight yes or no if the avocado was real or powder.

When trying to speak with a different staff member regarding the waiter's behaviour, all they did was change waiters and nothing was taken off the bill. Except for of course, the salad we never got served as I guess his memorization technique doesn't work. The new waiter told us to have a good day, and all I could think to myself is we definitely will by never coming to this restaurant again. What a huge disappointment. No wonder the restaurant was barely packed. I enjoyed the food, but its not worth the terrible service and male waiter who felt it was beneath him to even take our...

The food portion was really small compared to other vietnamese/pho restaurants I've been too and I've been to a lot.

I feel like this restaurant took advantage of the community they're in; a more upscale, affluent, and prosperous place.

They also definitely do cater more to the western taste and look, and there's nothing wrong with that, but this isn't the place to experience a true Vietnamese cuisine.

Today, we asked for chilli (hot peppers) on the side, and we got chilli oil. We asked twice, and it arrived at the second time.

Secondly, I was paying with the machine -- and the server yanked the machine from me even before it said accepted, as if he wanted us gone ASAP. Like he was too busy for proper etiquette.

There was no line up anywhere. Lol.

Also, one of orders (pho bo ko with rice noodle and egg vermicelli**) didn't have the type of noodle it said it would come with.

Overall, it was my second time coming. The broth of my pho (#72) was good at the least, but man, the portion was extra small.

Ambience was okay. Server sucked. Food was alright. Experience was bad.

Great business for them for white people... or people with limited tastes.

Please consider your customers, as that will be my second and...

I found the staff here to be quite friendly. There is definitely a regular clientele here as the staff would know their names and even what they normally order. They are very welcoming here which is probably why they have so many regulars here. The food came out hot and delicious in a short amount of time. The Shrimp Salad Rolls tasted good with fresh basil in them. The Vermicelli Noodles with Lemongrass Chicken and Spring rolls was quite large and filled me up for sure. Their menu is quite large and their prices are quite competitive. I can see why it has been open for 20 years or so. I am sure that they will be open for 20 more. There is plenty of parking and the CTrain Station is just across the street. Good location.

Definitely NOT what it used to be. Used to go here for years, but moved away. I was in the area and thought I’d enjoy some Bun Soup and bring back fond memories. Not so much. The soup was tasteless, half the portion of usual (hard to see in the picture, but the bowl wasn’t even half full), the meat (pork) was tough and tasteless. NO FLAVOR. I’ve never had that in this soup; they combine a little bowl containing fish sauce, water, rice vinegar, etc, so there should be nice contract in flavours. Not today. When I paid the bill I told the waitress that quality was not up to standards. She actually said I should leave a review…so I’m guessing I am not the first person that has told her.

This is being my favorite Vietnamese restaurant for over a decade. The food is consistently awesome and varied. I really like the menu here as there are so many different choices. The restaurant itself is quite nice and well appointed. During peak hours it's well staffed as with most Vietnamese restaurants, service is quite prompt. Here, people are very friendly. Dishes are typically a little bit more expensive here than out of the Vietnamese restaurants, but I think it equals better quality ingredients and a tastier product.
