Read moreHorrible experience … Not even worth for 1 star here. I went for lunch with my hubby. We got our seat but did not get menu. When asked for the menu, a lady told us only 1 type of noodle is available with different meats- pork, beef and lamb. We ordered 2 - pork & beef. After that we saw other customers had 2 different noodles, and my hubby asked her. She then said we had 2 different options. So he asked for 2 different noodles with specifying the meats for which noodle soup. My hubby’s noodle came out but wrong order and it was super salty…,, And mine did not come out until I decided to leave. My hubby did not get chopsticks and so he had to walk to the front and get them by himself. No water given….; Not only our table, but others did not get their order shortly, and saw 1 table complaining that 4 same noodles were ordered but all were in different taste. Mine did not come out even after my hubby finished his. So we just decided to leave, and went to pay the bill. The lady was kinds speaking loud to customers waiting to pay (not only us), foods were coming. Even customers were lining up to pay, she just put/served noodles to tables … and asked customers to enjoy/eat. I told her I waited too long, and we got our order not correct. She also put dumplings on our table which we did not order. We told her we would be paying for 1 noodle that we had, but nothing else. We then let her know we did not order dumplings, and she was not even sure. Anyway, she was pissed off already and told me the bill was $16.00, and I paid her with $20 bill and got change of $4.00. This price was kinda ridiculous for the dish… I checked the menu and the price was $15.95. Once i checked, the lady then stared at me, and gave me another nickel. I could have let go for the nickel, but …. Not at the time when the restaurant is not honest. I was too disappointed at this place with so many good reviews, and do not think I will go back, or recommend to anyone for...
The restaurant is located inside the shopping mall across the dragon city shopping mall. It looks like have aged well when you look at the wall and decorations. I believe it has been opened for decades if not more. Serving authentic Guilin noodles it’s a must try spot when you visit Calgary. Unfortunately we visit during the Lunar New Year’s Day so it’s very packed with only one server doing all things. We ordered the crispy pork Guilin noodles and beef brisket with rice, the food is amazing, the noodles is chewy and the soup base is taste good too. Especially the crispy pork is the highlight, still crispy despite it is in the soup. however we wait almost one hour for the food the be served it’s unacceptable. I recommend visit during regular times so you can get better experience. Parking is limited you have to find it by yourself either street side or private...
Read moreWe're originally from Vancouver and it's so hard to find good, traditional Guilin noodles. We found this place through Google and these are the best guilin noodles I've had in Canada. The lady who I think may be the owner was really nice. She recommended the B11, which is the most traditional guilin noodle they have. The noodles were great, very similar to what I've had in China. Needless to say we'll be stopping by again before we head back to Vancouver. Side note, I saw a review saying the noodles were not flavourful and bland. The noodles here are flavourful, but for those who prefer stronger flavour, guilin noodles are traditionally...
