Read moreI recently dined at OEB in Calgary and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. From the moment you walk in, the restaurant’s decor catches your eye. The place is beautifully decorated, with a unique character that adds to its charm. The ambiance creates a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions.
The food at OEB is delightful. The portions are generous, ensuring you get great value for your money. I particularly enjoyed the salmon and the Moroccan dish, both of which had a wonderful flavor and a bit of a spicy kick that added to the overall enjoyment. It’s clear that the ingredients are fresh and well-prepared.
One of the highlights of my visit was the juice, especially the orange juice, which is organic and incredibly fresh. It’s a perfect complement to the hearty meals and adds a refreshing touch to the dining experience.
While the food and atmosphere are excellent, be aware that there can sometimes be waits, especially during peak hours. However, the wait is usually manageable, and it’s worth it for the quality of food and service you receive.
Overall, OEB is a fantastic place with great food and a pleasant atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Calgary, it’s definitely worth a visit. The combination of well-decorated interiors, flavorful dishes, and fresh juice makes for a memorable dining experience. I look forward...
Read moreIt was our 3rd time at OEB and unfortunately, was a very terrible experience that almost killed our appreciation for OEB. We went around 930 AM on a Saturday (Aug 5, 2017). I ordered the Primavera while my friend ordered a farmer's delight. While the food came quick with little wait, we both observed it was bathing in oil (See Pics attached). The adjacent people (we were sitting at the bar) also voiced a similar concern.
Both my friend and I left the restaurant feeling very sick from the food. I had an immediate reaction using the washroom a little later while she started feeling unwell couple of hours later. We are pretty sure it's the food that ruined most of the morning and afternoon of that Saturday for us.
What is it OEB with the declining food quality? Also a couple of other observations :
The waitress's demeanor was surprising. For example : I understand we generally get served from the right. Our waitress served the plate in between the two of us, coming from behind us as we sat on the bar. The person who took our order did come around from the back of the restaurant.
We also had to chase her for ordering more items on the menu (extra bread etc) and so on.
Overall it was like a 1/10 experience for us, unfortunately that's not an option here. I might sound super harsh in this review here but OEB, you really made...
