Rating: 1/5 for the food, 2/5 overall I’m always excited to try a new poke bowl, but unfortunately, this one left me far more puzzled than pleased. I ordered the tuna poke, and let’s just say, it’s the kind of experience I’ll remember—but not for the right reasons. The tuna was…well, definitely not “sushi grade,” unless we’re talking about sushi from a very different part of town. As the dish was placed down, I was hit with a very strong fishy aroma, which is never a good sign. The rice was overcooked and gummy—more like a sticky rice pudding—and the dish was missing quite a few ingredients. What I did get was five tiny slivers of cucumber, one tiny piece of ginger, poorly cut daikon, a mystery crispy garnish that I’m still trying to identify (anyone have a guess?)… and tons of .. pickled onions??? On the bright side, the pineapple was lovely, and the edamame was exactly what I expected. Our server was friendly, though she waited until the end of the meal to check on us—and promptly whisked away my unfinished poke with no questions asked. She did ask for a mention in this review, but given the context, I think she’d appreciate it if I didn’t. Overall, I left with more questions than poke ingredients, but hey, at least the pineapple was good.

We booked their private room for my parents wedding anniversary. It seated the 10 of us very comfortably and could probably squeeze in 2 more at the end of the table. This dining menu had variety and pricing for food and drinks were very budget friendly. We enjoyed the Spanish inspired summer feature menu and everyone found something they liked for their mains. The interior had a great up-casual ambiance, so even though the menu and plating would indicate casual dining, the experience in the space felt elevated: which was perfect for our special occasion. My only 'meh' was the colour of coasters because it clashed with my colour theme, but if that's all there is to not love about a place, I think they're doing just fine. 😂 What I especially appreciated was the service we received. Teresa and the manager Ed were friendly and helpful. They allowed us to come in early to decorate the room, checking in on us to offer a helping hand. The private room didn't come with an extra cost or minimum spend. They replated the cake we brought in, made sure our cups were always full and always had a smile on. Would definitely come back with friends.

Came here for lunch with coworkers and it was easy to make reservations online. Service was great and food came out quick. I had the calamari and it was super crispy but could use a tad less salt. Great location close to my office so will return again. Sept 6/23 Came here again for lunch and wanted to share the korean cauliflower was decent and not too spicy. The Margherita pizza was pretty big and the crust was really good, thin crust with tomatoes, mozza cheese, basil and balsamic reduction. I had leftovers to takeaway. The one unfortunate dish was the fried chicken sandwich which my friend ordered. It can out super over done and blackened. It was not edible. We asked to send it back. The 2nd one came back and it looked similar... not as black but almost the same. She picked off the batter on the side and continued to try to eat it.. it was super dry and only the middle of the chicken was ok. Do not recommend getting the fried chicken!

The place is pretty average but with potential. Food was good kinda. Nothing wrong with it other then they try really hard to be “unique” and the chef does some things like uses so many different sauces to add life to food that it’s annoying. If you eat here understand what sauces they use and only accept what you really want. For example I had the owens landing burger, which is a was well prepared but the lettuce had a vinegar based dressing then heavy maple flavoured bacon with other sources on the burger. So you have this vinegar bite and really sugary (to the point your fingers were sticky) maple taste. The Brussels spouts appetizer (which was great in many ways) has two kids of sauce. It would have been really good literally with nothing on them, but one or the other Sauce would have been okay also but less so with both (some tomatoes based one and another mayo based drizzle on top). Of the several meals served at our table they were all “good” but the over the top application of sauces on each meal was an obvious theme. Not to mention the fries with the burger were dried out/over fried and not good. The gimmick they use in place of bringing a mint to the table at the end of the meal were some cookies that should never be served. They took away from the other wise decent experience. The staff was fine, but not attentive enough. Polite enough and professional otherwise. This place is on the verge of being a 4 star and even a 5 star, but they need to figure out the menu a bit more and focus on enhancing the flavours and not drowning the dinner in new forced flavours the chef seems to use to override those natural ones. Over all, they could do very well with a bit of focus and moderating sauces. I will try them again in a few months and see...

Valentine’s Dinner: A Mixed Experience

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place for Valentine’s Day, hoping for a memorable dining experience. We had an 8:30 PM reservation and were seated within five minutes, which was a good start. However, the rest of the evening was a rollercoaster of great food and frustrating service.

To start, we ordered the Hummus with Fresh Baked Bread and the Gyoza. The Gyoza was absolutely delicious—crispy, flavorful, and well-balanced. Unfortunately, the hummus and bread were a letdown. The bread was cold and bland, lacking the freshness and warmth that makes it enjoyable. I wouldn’t bother ordering it again.

The waiting time was another issue. It took a while for our order to be taken, and we waited at least 10-15 minutes for our main courses to arrive. Even then, our appetizer plates weren’t cleared, so we had to eat our mains with them still on the table. To make matters worse, we waited another 30 minutes before anyone even asked if we wanted dessert. For a three-course meal, spending two hours at the restaurant felt unnecessarily long.

I’m not sure if the delays were because of Valentine’s Day, but the overall service wasn’t great. Seeing a server (lady with a curly hair) crying didn’t add to the experience either. While most of the food was outstanding, the slow service and underwhelming bread and hummus were definite downsides. Would I come back? Maybe—but definitely not on a...

Our experience hosting our wedding at Owens Landing was nothing short of perfect. From start to finish, their team went above and beyond to make sure every detail was handled with care. We held an intimate ceremony with 22 guests at a separate venue where they provided a temporary bar service and appetizers, followed by a beautiful dinner within Owens, and then opened the celebration to about 70 of our closest friends and family for drinks and dancing — and throughout it all, their customer service was exceptional. Each guest felt individually cared for, the staff ensured everyone always had a drink in hand, and the flow of the evening was seamless. The food and drink selection were top-notch — delicious, perfectly timed, and praised by everyone. Owens Landing’s flexibility and willingness to accommodate our requests made the planning process stress-free. They even jumped in to help us with setup and decor, lent us a hand with our speaker setup, helped us fix a tricky guest book, and helped take group photos at just the right angle while perched on a ledge! From ensuring our name tags were ready to assisting with take down at the end of the night, the Owens Landing team truly felt like partners in our celebration. Their dedication, kindness, and professionalism made our wedding day unforgettable. We can’t recommend them highly enough for anyone looking for a beautiful venue and a team that genuinely cares about...
